Search online for a turbo chip. You cut a small bit off the sim card and the chip goes under the card in the phone and allows the use of any SIM.

simple answer- there isnt a yes or no answer to whether or not they are unlocked, if you want an unlocked one tell them before you buy it

The only way to guarantee an unlocked handset from CPW is to purchase a sim free handset or a 02 pay go phone.

Ohh or 02/voda pay monthly phone.

All others are locked, although from time to time if they run out of network branded handsets they will provide you with a sim free phone and a simcard belonging to the network you want to connect too!

Last Orange upgrade I got was from CPW and it was unbranded and unlocked. Breath of fresh air after being stuck with the horrible Orange versions in the past. I will go back there againt next time if I can do the same. However, CPW are a pain in the rear after you have bought from them and have range me a good load trying to sell me stuff.

actually, ALL handsets with the exception of the G1, iPhone and 3 handsets are available as unlocked versions from CPW.
ALL PAYG are unlocked, though some are only available to buy on certain networks.
