What can I make with bread?
Hey,
For my food GCSE, I have to make bread, which I have done. Now I need to modify this to make something else bread related (such as a garlic baguette, hot cross buns etc) but I can't think what to make. So many people in my food class are doing things like hot cross buns, I want to do something a bit original, but what? Anyone got any ideas? Thank you.

I think I misunderstood you on my first reading.
You could make Irish Soda Bread. |

Do you have to make something out of the bread or modify the recipe to make something else? Not sure I get which it is.

How about cinnamon swirl buns? (they're a fav in this house!
)Roll your dough out into a rectangle shape, lightly spread with melted marg/butter and sprinkle sugar, a little cinnamon and raisins on top (soak raisins in orange juice if you like them really plump and juicy). Grab the long edge of the rectangle and roll the whole lot up like a swiss roll - cut off slices (about 2cm thick) and lay them flat and spaced apart on a baking sheet - leave in a warm place to rise before cooking (180-200) for 20-25mins till golden. Drizzle with icing (optional). Top tip: When your cutting the slices, take a washed piece of dental floss and loop it round the swiss roll, pull both the ends across each other and it will cut through the tube with even pressure so you don't lose the circular shape with the slices like you do when you press down with a knife (hope that makes sense!). |

do a simple focaccia bread. its easy, its not hard work but its one of these breads that if you get right you will just love. Throw in a few mixed herbs, fresh and dried while you knead the dough, not too much. Press out into a small pizza dish, press in some half black olives, drizzle with nice garlic flavoured olive oil and bake for 15 mins.

These are my faves, never had a go at making them though! What kind of dough should you make? Just a basic white bread dough?
also you can do savory versions with tomato and garlic fillings, topped with a little cheese before baking. Hope your project all went well OP
