Cancelled Contract & Taken Out A New One
Hello,
I gave Vodafone my one months notice today & cancelled because I wanted to get a deal to get a PS3 console. Anyway, I managed to get a new contract with a PS3 & the cheapest tariff was Vodafone so I've signed back up with them. Now, when I asked the guy if I could keep my old number as I've requested a PA Code he said I couldn't. My question is, was he lying & if I phone up Vodafone they can transfer it or can I really not keep my number ![]() Thanks & hope it makes sense

When you end a contract you can take the number with you. If you request the PAC then the network has to give it to you.
Some of the networks won't allow you to port within so you might have to port your number to a different network (just get a payg sim from any of them) and once it's in just call them up and ask for the PAC, then take that back to Voda. |

But check first of all that there isn't a minimum period or spend before you can transfer the number out of the PAYG SIM.

PAC is only from one network to another, otherwise you are not transferring networks, you are upgrading.
You would probably have been better off getting a discount from vodafone retentions and buying a PS3 separately. |

Agreed, these deals with "free" gifts are often more expensive in the long run. Which is why these companies offer them, after all!
