My bill date with 3 is the 25th of each month, so on this day all my texts and minutes are reset.

If I add an internet pack today which costs £5, how will it be charged?

I called them and they reckon that I will have to pay from today up until the 24th, and the £5 for the next month all on the same bill. Is this right?

I was thinking I would just pay for the usage from now until the 24th in my next bill???

You pay your contract in advance, not arrears.

Extra charges (not covered by contract) are billed in arrears. The internet pack is a contract bolt-on.

In that case then it's probably best I wait until 25th to add it so that I only have to pay the extra £5 rather than £5 + usage from now until 24th in my next bill right?

^not necessarily. As far as I remember (it's been a while since I added the internet pack) it operates like this:

If you add/activate the internet pack today it'll cover your data use straight away, meaning the first month's allowance will last from today (16th January now) through to the end of your next bill (24th February). Only thing to be aware of is that although the pack will be active about 9 days longer than your usual billing period, the usual monthly FUP (1GB) will still apply.

Charge wise, you'll be charged the £5 for the internet pack on your next bill which takes you through to the 25th February bill, only being charged extra if the pack hasn't gone properly on in the first place or you use over 1GB between today and 25th February.
