Hi all,
I'm trying to backup my iTunes library to DVD using the backup wizard in iTunes.
Ideally, I would like to test the backup set. To do this, I renamed the iTunes folder in "My Music" to "Old iTunes", launched iTunes - which created
a new iTunes library and tried to restore the backup set, which is on 5 DVD's.
I have tried this twice now, on two different sets of 5 DVD's - thinking the first time was caused by a faulty DVD - and both times the restore has failed with the following error message:-
"Attempting to copy to the disk failed. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation.
iTunes could not save to your Music Folder because you do not have write access. Check the permissions on your Music Folder and folders in your Music Folder, then try copying this file again"
I am running Windows XP Home with Service Pack 3 and the latest version of iTunes, 8.0.2.20. I am logged into Windows using an administrator account.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on what might be causing it?
It turns out that the only contact form I could find on the Apple support website is for iTunes Store support. I completed the form as best I could and received an apology from someone in iTunes Store support saying that they couldn't help me with some links to the Apple site which didn't help much.
Does anyone have a link to the contact form or an e-mail address for iTunes application support?
Many thanks,
Steve.
