HELP - Labrador with boil on ear
Murraymar
17-01-2009
Sid, my labrador had a pimple on his ear over Christmas. I wased it everyday in dettol and water and it went away. However this morning I was grooming him and I got an awful whiff off his ear. There is a black seeping boil on his ear. My vet is closed til Monday? Any ideas what I could do

ps he is not in pain or anything, infact he is snoozing as I type but the smell is pretty unpleasant.

My dog is currently undergoing lots of treatment at the vets, you name it, she has it

However, one of the things she has is a huge wart/boil type thing that erupted under her back leg, near her tummy, oozing smelly stuff coming out of it, it was horrible. My vet said best thing was to dab some iodine on it. I have, and it worked. Worth a try maybe.

My cat got an abcess on his ear from a cat fight, he was treated with antibiotics, but to aid the healing the vet said to bathe it twice a day with cooled, boiled salt water. Said the salt would help it heal up. Hope it gets better soon.

Magnesium sulphate paste from the chemist is good for boils as long as it's in a place the dog cant lick.
