Am really looking forward to seeing this partnership. I'm hoping Jessica is going to be as good as everyone seems to think she is, i really like her! And i am looking forward to seeing more of Pavel.

I was the pro skater who skated with Jess in the Strictly Ice Dancing special. Jess is a talented skater and i have no doubts at all she will do well through this series and reach at least the semi's.......Good luck

I think they'll be really good too. Love Pavel so hopefully Jess can skate as well as the pro says.

I am keen to see what Jess will be like after over 3 months of training???? She had only 3-4 weeks to learn to skate and learn the routine before and i was shocked at how much she learnt in that time, really looking forward to seeing a polished performance to rival Ray

I've been waiting to see her In the middle of the soap stars creating a drama between them, and Colleen and Melinda probably struggling, I think Jessica will really stand out.

Hi Robice! I was looking at last week's video and Jessica seems a lot taller than the other girls. Do you think that might hinder her? Although I suppose Ray has the same problem, but in reverse.

It shouldn't really hinder her too much, maybe only when it comes to a couple of the lifts, however she has a good tall partner that should know how to overcome any difficulties. You may see them doing more overhead lifts than others

her skating ability will not need to be dressed up with loads of lifts though as she should be able to do more complex steps and choreography than a few of the others.

That's what I'm hoping for. My favourite routines are skating heavy

I'd much rather watch the female celebs actually skating themselves rather than spending most of their routines being literally carried around the ice by their pro partners. It was what really annoyed me with Bonnie in series one - she did the mostt amazing routines but hardly ever put her own blades on the ice.

Somehow I don't think that will be Jessica's problem. I think she will skate rings round the other girls and I love Pavel too!

Yes I know what you mean. I really love seeing amazing lifts and the powerful pro's like Pavel and Andrei can do some amazing stuff I'm sure but I like to see the skaters proving what they can do themselves as well. Jessica will definately be able to show off what she can do ON the ice I'm sure (with a couple of nice lifts as well !!)

I think I'm going to be making my home in here and the Ray/Maria thread. Can't wait for tonight!

I am pleased about what someone said that they don't like to see too much lifts i.e. Bonnie. The lifts are only a part of what skating is about, as impressive as it is it isn't true Ice Dance, but then this is an entertainment show...

I was going to start a Pavel appreciation thread, then I saw this one!

I loved that! Strong, secure and a good performance.

I really wish we saw more of her skating solo though. There were so many points in the guys' routines last week where they skated without holding their partner's hand. The frustrating part is that you can tell Jessica (and probably Zoe) don't need to be supported every second by their partners.

Loved Jessica tonight - excellent - really beautiful shapes. I'm looking forward to seeing her and Ray next week!

I really hope they get to the final, mainly for Pavel, i always want him to do well as he is a fantastic skater and never gets to show it much usually.

I have never voted in the past, but i will be voting for them each week (unless she is terrible one week though)

First of all i have to say that Jessica has improved so much since i skated with her last!!!! Not sure if any of you on here are skaters so sorry if i get all technical and boring but she was doing so many intrecate (im a skater not a speller BTW) moves and steps that i doubt any other celebs will be demonstrating even by the final....twizzles, inside three's, mohawkes etc....

One of the most important things to demonstrate in any performance is confidence and drawing the audience in, making them live and enjoy every move/moment with you and they 100% achieved that. The speed that Jessica and Pavel had across the ice as they came on was in a different league to any others as it showed a quality and class

Jessica really is a talented skater but also a very genuine person and she deserves all the plaudits she'll receive.

One point though she needs to improve on is her timing, she was slightly out of time not only with the music but also Pavel. This should improve as the series goes on and the nerves are under more control
