My male cat suffers with acne. Even after we changed his feeding bowls. Granted it's not so severe but he still gets it. He's not much of a scratcher though.

When you say you've just found out, is this at a vet or via the Internet

When we got new carpet and furniture in an old house, our cat developed scars on her chin which the vet said was due to her putting her scent down and over doing it!

Could always just be fleas?

He did have a jab a while back which did clear it up for a couple of months but he keeps getting it back.

It doesn't seem to be bothering him too much so we leave him to it.

My old boy - now deceased had chin acne. I had and still have a very good vet who prescribed a solution to apply which cured his acne. I cannot remember what the solution was, as it is so long ago, but I do remember signing a disclaimer as the stuff was only licensed to use on dogs.
He did say though, he would use it on his own cats if they had the problem.

Wish I could remember what it was called as it worked a treat. It foamed up on application and rubbed it into his chin, then had to rinse it off / neutralise.
I only had to use it about 3 times.

We had a male cat a few years back who had bother with this.

He kept developing what can best described as a "fat lip".

Had to get pills from the vet each time.
