Bought one of those little MP4 players for my sister from Aldi yesterday (yeah, I know, but it was cheap) --- plugged it int o the USB on the PC and let it charge. It said 4 hours, 7 later I removed it and tried to start it up: dead. So I popped it out of the hub and plugged it directly into the PC, left it overnight, this morning still nothing.
Files transferred ok, and it will play and do all the functions while connected to the PC, but as soon as I discon it dies.
Any ideas if I'm doing anything wrong here, or did I just (as usual) get the only dodgy one in the store?
Any help really appreciated, as I really wanted to present this to her yesterday, but would like to do so today if possible. If it's a dud then it goes back, but I know there's no point in asking Aldi staff about it, and Tevion's helpline isn't responding, plus their help website doesn't seem to be running either.
Thanks for any help!

If its the same mp3 player that I bought my girls there should be a ON/OFF switch located on the bottom and to charge the mp3 it has to be switched to either on or off can't remember which, it does tell you in the instructions somewhere... !

Just checked the website you had listed and on the quick start guide it states :-

On the bottomof the MP4 player there is small on/off switch, simply slide to the ON position. Please note that you must charge the MP4 player for at least 4 hours with the switch in the ON position before using the MP4 player.MP4

Thanks for that, but I already did that and there's still nothing happening when I take off the USB cable. It's been on charge for I guess about 16 hours altogether now, not a peep...

Edit: I think I just realised the idiots told me that the on/off switches were the wrong way round. It has no printing on the underside of the player, and the manual shows the slider as going towards the USB port for ON, but it seems that it's the OTHER WAY AROUND!
I think it'll work now.
Thx for your help!

Okuda, maybe you can help with this little problem too? When I select MUSIC, then ARTISTES it just goes into the first track. Is there no way to see a list of the music on your player, prepare playlists etc? Everything I try seems to just lead back to the first track playing. Perhaps it doesn't support this function, but I would have thought it would?
