Like I have said previously, it IS possible to empty the schedule just by browsing non-Freesat. It happened to me 3 times, and to others. I'm not saying it happens everytime, but 3 times was enough to stop me trying.

Sorry, I knew that you had lost your schedule without scanning for channels -- but are you saying, without any doubt, that all you have done is switch to non-freesat, watch channels and then switch back? Could you have used any of the other box functions? (Like, for example, the Guide?)

There has to be some factor, or combination of factors, which is triggering this behaviour for just a small number of people. If we can work out exactly what these triggers are, we might be able to find a safe way that you can use non-freesat again.

Thank you- I was beginning to feel ignored

Obviously the first time I went to non-Freesat it had done it's scan and so I was expecting the schedule to wipe clean. Then the next time I visited I think I removed all the channels I didn't want. Then I think after that one it was wiped again. So I thought "perhaps it's because I am doing things other than just browsing" (just like you said) and tried a few times after that. Like I said, it didn't happen every time. But over the following few days I must have gone to non-Freesat about 5-6 times- just browsing to test my theory, and three of those visits ended up wiping the schedule. I was fully aware of what was said on this forum, that scanning non-Freesat is supposed to wipe the schedule, so I was disappointing in finding out it happened even when I didn't. I have a three-strikes-your-out policy, and so I haven't bothered since.

This has never happened to me although I often use freesat mode (mainly to record and mess about with non enc BBC HD files) but I do have a theory, I never have more than 2 or 3 reservations at any one time as I only record HD and don't use series record. May be it's a problem that occurs when the reservation list is longer.

I think I only have a couple of series in the schedule atm, so maybe it's worth me giving it another shot. At least if it is wiped clean, then it won't take me long to add the two programs again.

It is good that Bob_Cat helps but that's not the correct way in which to report a problem. It should be reported direct to Humax.

No-one should rely on him happening to read a post on a bulletin board.

I've started using non-freesat mode again to see if I can trigger this. So far the only way I've got it to wipe the schedule has been by scanning or (today) reordering channels.

Obviously these aren't the only ways. I'll keep trying...

When it happened to me today, I only had one programme in the schedule as I was deliberately testing whether I could safely re-order non-freesat channels before putting my schedule back in again.

However, since I wasn't just browsing channels at the time, it's possible that there's more than one cause to the wiping.

Hmm. I have just got home and checked my schedule- just 3 programs. So I thought I'd try again. Into non-Freesat, browse, back again, and schedule remains. I tried again, and still the schedule remains. However, like I said, it didn't happen everytime. Perhaps more testing is called for. I shall keep trying over the course of the next few days to see if I can replicate the issue again. It would just be my luck if after all this moaning my issue has stopped. But if it has, that makes it even more confusing to me.
Perhaps it only wipes your schedule if you've been watching the naughty channels!

It's really puzzling how this obviously can happen, but isn't happening to everybody. Either it's randon or there's something systematic that we haven't yet figured out. Re-ordering non-fresat channels may be the answer. Another possibility that occurs to me is, "do you have any freesat channels tuned in non-freesat mode?". I would try it myself but I haven't been able to get hold of one yet .
