Please don't let the ladies dances be all about lifts

I am biased as a bloke but my missus agrees too.
I want the girls to be good, but if they are lifted all the time by their pro partners.....it is harder in our minds for a guy to dance AND lift (like Donal did last week on his first week)...I couldn't do it!
I hope the ladies dance alot on their own.

I agree with you! I think girls get lifted too much because they can be.... Obviously it's easier for the pro boys to lift the girls than the celebrity boys but I wish they'd keep the girls' feet on the ice more as it's called DANCING on Ice not LIFTING on ice!

Imo, the show needs to do something about the problem that many viewers see it that way.

They should either make it clear to viewers that being lifted is difficult and that the male celebs do not have a harder task overall than the female ones -- or else they have to tell T&D (or whoever's devising the routines) to put more emphasis on the women's skating and less on lifts.

DOI skating is kinda half way between ice dancing and pair skating, and pair has lots of spectacular lifts. (The lifts are part of DOI despite not being mentioned in the title. ) But if the lifts are going to work against the female celebs with a substantial number of viewers, then imo the show needs to do something about it, one way or another.

I also agree - I want to see them moving on the ice more not above it!

I do mostly agree, but I don't think that being lifted is that easy, depending on the lift. Jessica/s opening move this week and the one that Zoe did where the girls are held horizontally inches from the ice while the guy circles around... that takes a lot of body strength from the girl to keep herself that straight.

With that said, I enjoy skating more than lifts. I really want to see some solo sections from the girls. Most of the men did some dancing out of hold last week but the girls had no more than 5 seconds per routine without holding onto the guy. Even Jessica and Zoe, who are perfectly capable of dancing alone.

I enjoy the lifts they are spectacular but I agree there should be more dancing together, after all it is dancing on ice not lifting on ice. Zoe's routine was lovely and there were some great dance moments but I think there needs to be more. Hopefully we'll see it in her skating next week.
