and then be perfect on the night... it is getting tiresome.

The really tiresome part is "S/he takes to the ice like a duck to water! ... HOWEVER, a few weeks later they're facing down the apocalypse in tears!"

I agree. It's disappointing when they never fall down on the night.

lol They show Jessica struggling and surprise surprise she was best on the night...

If you see them falling over and struggling in training, then you can see how much they have improved when they perform. And its part of the entertainment seeing them fall

I am not saying I want them to fall but why show them being so poor and then they are really good....

It would be far more boring if we were to just see them skate and not see any of the behind the scenes stuff! And falling over is a major part...

The training footage is too formulaic. I don't want to see them just skating around, but there has to be more than happy - confident - fall - cry - "I don't know if I can do this".

The most interesting footage was Coleen who seemed genuinely worried. We did not see her crying beforehand, and her tears at the end of her performance more more moving because of that!

Absolutely. Personally I'd like to see far more training footage, falls 'n all

I would like to see more Training Footage I have to say it adds to the feel of the show. The training is an essential part of the process and the more training footage you see the more you can build up a rapport with someone.
And...we get to see more Training Fun & Games with J&C & Karen and the celebs!

They should do the equivalent of SCD It Takes Two.
I always feel the Pro skaters get a rough deal on DOI because they rarely get a look in. If they had a daily half hour show to catch up with training, interview the couples and celebrity fans etc we would have an opportunity to learn more about the Pros and let them gain a bit of the limelight.

they use to but they seem to have decided not to do it any more. I liked it with series 1 but series 2 they put it on at a ridiculous time and i always forgot to watch it.

Out of all of them I thought Coleen's was by far the worst. Her pessimistic incessant whining was annoying within the first 20 seconds and by the time we had an entire video of her doing nothing but pout and complain, I was practically willing her to fail and get eliminated.

It's Pip's silly "doey" voice over which irritates me....the voice he usually uses on This Morning when doing a tragic voice over.

You try and get up and do it when you are in your 40's, she was genuinely worried... nice person you seem to be...

Melinda is no spring chicken and her VT wasn't full of Coleen's pouting and whining. Perhaps I'm wrong but I thought Bonnie Langford was born in the early 60s, making her in her mid 40s as well.

Age has nothing to do with it. Young people can be just as brain numbingly annoying. Colleen is just that kind of irritating person who just happened to be in her 40s.

Coleen is far from irritating. I think she is brilliant. Some people find it hard to learn a new skill and especially on ice. I wouldn't be able to do it so I admire Coleen for giving it a go.

Coleen was genuinely worried. Maybe she shouldn't express her real opinion. Melinda was harping on about Jason and getting negative comments... so whats the difference?

I found Colleen to be nothing but totally genuine. She is a singer and presenter, she isn't an actress, and couldn't put on a show like that if it wasn't genuine.

She was scared, plain and simple. And the relief when the routine was over was obvious.

I hope she doesn't fall over and have a nasty injury and that she can get over her fears and enjoy the DOI experience.

Well said Kaycee. I couldn't agree more. She was scared, nervous and afraid of falling. That is a natural thing. She isn't an actress. She was being down to earth and that is just one of the things I love about her.

I have no issue with her finding it hard. I have issue with her whining incessantly, half the time refusing to even try properly, bragging about how pessimistic she is, and continuing to be even more pessimistic. Instead of trying to get into the spirit, even on the live shows, she whines about not wanting to do it while everyone else is apprehensive but mostly excited. For god's sake! There's someone like Gemma there who wanted it more than she probably wants life itself (slight exaggeration but you get the point), and she gets knocked out, while Colleen who repeatedly tells us that she doesn't want to set foot on the ice is still there!

Melinda worried about someone being nasty to her. There's a big difference between that, and between what I just described. Melinda has no control over that. Colleen can control everything she whines about.

Their professions have nothing to do with it. This isn't an acting gig, and they're not acting. They're just, simply, far less IQ destroying.

I don't think Coleen was serious about it, she was just having a bit of fun about it. You really have taken what Coleen said at face value, she was being amusing, her reaction at getting through was fantastic and shows how much she wants it.

She has a sense of humour and her fans can see that

As for Gemma, I am glad she is gone, she was so cocky and really thought she was going to be the best out there.

She really wasn't being amusing. Perhaps you only think that because you like her from other things.

I have been speaking to a lot of people and everyone thought she was funny and entertaining. She does well on Loose Women so she is an entertaining lady. Maybe you don't like her... fair enough but accept others do.
