I love the falling over in the training clips - best bit

Colleen didn't come across as whiney and moany, I was willing her to pull through and when she completed her routine the relief was palpable - I was really rooting for her

I haven't found anyone off DS who finds her funny. I'm being mild compared to what everyone else I know thought about her rubbish on Sunday night. I also see nowhere in my posts where I said "nobody else in the world likes Colleen" so I'm not sure why you'd even bring that up.

Her rubbish? It was skating... and she did a good job at it. She will get better when her confidence grows. I don't see why you need to put down a skater like that. She is giving it her best shot.

I'm talking about her rubbish off the ice. The only time she was tolerable was when she was on it and not speaking. I've said repeatedly that my problem isn't with her skating. I don't know why you're playing so obtuse.

Ok your problem isn't her skating, your problem is her personality? She has low self confidence, she is genuinely worried and scared of skating and is doing the best she can to get through it.

My problem, as I stated in every single post I made in this thread, is her whining. If the best she can do to get through it is whine, whine, whine, whine, and complain about not wanting to be on the ice, then frankly, her best is not good enough. Even Todd didn't complain that much. At least he gave it a go, however terrible he was.

Well I didn't find it to be whining, I felt like she was using her personality and having a laugh with it and a joke. It wasn't whining. She wouldn't be doing DOI if she didn't want to. She is having a laugh. It was a joke that she made.... I didn't realise we had to be serious all of the time and how lovely to see the loose women there supporting her.

To be honest the falling over in the videos is the best part, I'm a sucker for physical comedy and Roxanne trying to stay upright was very funny.

I understand what you mean about the journey but what else can they do in the VT's to make them interesting.

One of the most used quotes by coaches in ice skating is

'If you are not falling, you are not learning'

So I'd expect a training video to be full of falls. It shows they are pushing themselves. I didnt find Coleen's VT to be too whiny. But I hope next week she has a bit more confidence in her abilities.

The training videos are annoying when they show someone you know full well can skate look shakey on the ice. They should cut that out.

As for the Dancing on Ice extra programmes I wouldn't be suprised if they didn't axe them or at least Stephen Mulhern after he failed in series two to challenge the contestants in the final as to why none of them want Clare to win. You could see it a mile away that when Stephen interviewed Fern Britton she was briefed to change her support to Clare in an attempt to cover up the fact the producers wanted Kyran to win.

And if no one else thinks the result for series two was rigged in favour of Kyran ask yourselves these two questions.

1: Why did they cover up that Kyran did have a lot of previous training at being about to skate to get over and ankle injury early in his rugby career.
2: Why is it that some months afterward Kyran was considered professional enough to have taken over Robin Cousin's role in Holiday on Ice when supposedly being an amatuer.

Kyran didnt' 'take over Robin Cousins role' In HOI. He was a guest star in the touring show due to his popularity with the public. He was a long way from being the best skater in the show which included some former Olympic skaters. He performed a lovely routine with a partner incorporating some of the lifts he'd learnt and also did some solo skating including some basic single jumps. He wouldn't make it to the Olympics or even any national competition against the elite skaters - nowhere near. He is however a lovely man and still skating with a partner.

Most of the skaters in Dancing on ice are pretty shakey when skating alone - it is amazing how much easier it is to skate with a pro partner but still partnered skating is a skill in itself.

Even the best skaters fall a lot in training.

Its different this time though as an awful lot of them are not very good and its the standing up part thats causing the falling down part not doing anything difficult.
