I'm not a massive fan of Gemma, but I was literally in shock with her scores. She was way better than Colleen and I thought she was on par with Melinda and Roxanne.

Gutted :\

Melinda and Roxanne actually skated though. Gemma was carried around by Andre.

I agree... I thought she was better than Colleen, Melinda and Roxanne actually.

you are kidding.

I really want her to stop in as she's with my fave pro but she was tripping all over the place.

Melinda was a lot better than her IMO

I was surprised when I saw Gemma's marks; I was expecting them to be high actually - around the same as Roxanne actually

In the routine that was aired on my TV, Roxanne stood still for the first 15 seconds of her routine as well as the last 10 seconds, and was carried by her partner for the rest of it. Gemma had more contact with the ice.

She was very tentative I thought and didn't present herself well. I though Roxanne had the edge on her.

It doesn't matter how Coleen skated, she will get the votes

No need to get arsey over it

Did you count all the seconds in Roxy's routine? She definatly had more skating content than Gemma.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this. She deserved a bit higher in my opinion.

I agree she was undermarked, BUT I also thought that Melinda, Roxanne & Coleen deserved slightly higher marks & Zoe didn't deserve as much as she got, yes she may have had a more difficult routine BUT she looked nervous the entire time & didn't straighten her arms out when skating alone & her legs looked awkward during one of the lifts..the judges keep marking them based on how difficult the routine is that they've been given rather than how they perform it, its stupid.

The marks were low across the board for Gemma so I can only assume that the judges knew or saw something that we didn't. Perhaps a part of her routine was missed?

Yes, I did. And no, she didn't. I just watched it back again.

Edit: No, I'm not getting arsey.

Have to agree with you there. I personally thought Gemma's routine was better than Roxanne's and was suprised at the low mark. I wonder if it was an advantage to Roxanne going first? Either way I think both of them will be in the skate off tonight with Gemma going.

She was very stiff but she is someone whom I can see striving and showing huge dedication to improving.

I like Roxy, but I didn't like the movements at the beginning either, but then I think Jason was unecessarily harsh on her.

But that is how skating is marked. If they attempt a difficulty and complete it they have to mark it higher than someone who completes a simpler routine but better.

It is usually recognised that the first to skate is at a disadvantage as the judges have to mark conservatively in case the others are far better and then they have room for improvement on the marks they give.

I thought Gemma was carried around more that skated, so the vote reflected that ... might be wrong just my openion

But it shouldn't be..thats my point..they shouldnt even have some routines that are more difficult than others in my opinion..the should all have the same standard of routines that get more difficult as the weeks move on..that way we start with weaker routines..the celebs that have potential will still find them a complete doddle & therefore will be fine, the ones that find them difficult, that will show too..it doesn't come out fair when some have fancy pants routines & others don't..it happened all the way up to the final last year..the 2 girls..Zaraah could do plenty BUT was never given it, Suzanne was hence why she looked better in my opinion, thats just how I see it.

Twice and they stand out because they were great lifts, by any standards but particularly for a tall and not skinny girl.

I don't think she was undermarked but I think she was on a par with Roxanne and Melinda.

Is Gemma the one that was lifted, arabesque, lifted, lifted, arabesque, lifted, arabesque, lifted?

The best thing was her face when she saw the scores.

i thought her arabesques were amazing for her first performance...
looking back i think she was carried around too much and there wasn't enough skating but surely that's not her fault.
i still think she was undermarked. and she looked really upset by the scores.

she'll be gutted if she leaves because she's such a huge fan of the show and has said herself that she's really competitive.
i say keep her in and vote coleen out (no disrespect to her but she looked as if she wanted to go out tonight).

I wonder if they ever vote on likeability? Possibly why others who were equal to her scored better?

Having rewatched and specifically counted, I can conclusively say that the time they spent being carried, standing still, or pushed by their partner without havnig to move is as follows:

Roxanne - 40 seconds
Gemma - 25 seconds

I don't see how Roxanne Pallett is any more likeable.
