I felt she took the 'soaps rivalry' too far.

When Roxanne was in practice she was looking on - leading Roxanne to say, "You're making me nervous."

Not the most endearing clip.

So true - as someone pointed out to me, a number of very successful actors emerged from the now defunct Brookside.

I thought that too. Especially when she said 'it's North versus South'. She probably lost all the votes from the North at that point.

To me then it just looked like she was having a laugh. Anyho I suppose she's gone now. A Jessica/Ray finale me thinks

Don't you think the producers of the show set the celebs up to appear in a certain way by the bits of VT they show? I don't think they all necessarily fit the 'persona' we're led to believe they have. I'm inclined to give Gemma the benefit of the doubt and think her mouthiness was overemphasised.

Glad she went. She was fiecely competive without having the talent to back it up. She came across as very hard and cold too.

I was surprised all 5 judges eliminated her in favour of Melinda, so rather have a feeling she talked her way out of the show! A little humility never goes amiss.”

This is what i think too. There seemed to be no love lost between her, her skating partnet, Torvell & Dean or the judges. They all seemed to really dislike her so something must have been going on behind the scenes. Im sure it will all come out, it always does.

She did come across cocky and rude but i did think she skated better than she was marked. I was very surprised to see how low she was marked. Just seemed like the judges wanted rid of her and no one looked too unhappy that she was gone.

Practically every actor or actress to come out of the UK has appeared in The Bill / Casualty or both. You've got to start somewhere and being in a soap is nothing to be ashamed about. A lot of people watch soaps, they are very popular and i always feel that when someone belittles soaps, theres a bit of TV snobbery going on.

Yes its largely down to the VTs and probably what she was told to say but it was pretty incompetent of them to set up a big storyline of a competition between the two of them when neither on the evidence we have seen was that good or likely to stay. As uncompleted stories go its worse even than SCD going on and on about a compettion between Austin and Tom when the final was always going to be one of them v Rachel.

it looks a bit desperate when the only story they can find from the celebs is one that only lasted a week.

Gemma does some good charity work.
