I don't think who will be in the final is a foregone conclusion at all - it is more clear who won't be there!

Does it annoy anyone else that they are talking about the final in the first few weeks. I mean give the others a chance to improve first.

I prefer Jessica to Zoe. Personality wise Zoe reminds me of Christine on SCD, nice enough but not one of my favourites.

You never know how the public will vote. Ray is very likeable so i can see him in the final. Not too sure about Jessica though, I didnt warm to her very much on Sunday night. Zoe could be the dark horse if she keeps improving - she is very likeable and if she can match Jessicas standard, she has a real chance of making the final over Jessica.

Problem is Colleen and Todd may be in the top 3 of the public vote so we amy have weeks of embarassingly bad skating and there's no one built as well for ice dancing as Suzanne, Claire or Kyran.”

They may get around that by deliberately scoring worse couples lower so they will eventually get forced out before the final. Eventually the judges scores will make an influence of who goes through.

The other thing they may do is slowley increase those they want into the finals scores like they did with Kyran in series two.

I'm going to repeat something I said previously elsewhere. I think it's highly probable that Ray and Jessica will both be in the final but it's not guaranteed. For example, what if neither of them gets the public vote one week and they're in the skate-off against each other? At that point, one of them will have to go.

Nor do we know who will ultimately win because the final is solely a public vote and the judges' scores don't count. In series 1, if the judges had had any say, then Bonnie would have probably won but she didn't get the public support.

I think it's too early to predict the final people. Don't forget that Ray and Jessica's progress won't be as visible as the others, who will be improving over weeks, while Ray and Jessica will both just be maintaining a high standard. People like Melinda, Ellery, and Roxanne who had a decent start, not outstanding, but decent, will get a lot better over the weeks and will eventually be up to, if not higher than, Jessica and Ray's standard.

That probably doesn't make any sense at all, but I hope you know what I mean.

Thats the most spot on description of Zoe yet !!! She is exactly like Christine on SCD !!

ohhh spooky coincidences coming to mind here -
1. Both got a Matt as a partner
2. Both Matts won the previous year with superb partners.
3. Both Matts get very chatty Northern Ireland girlies this year.
4. Mattesha and Mazanne fans cant quite forget the glory year last year , as new birds dont quite look the same with them this year.

hmmm what week did Christine go out on SCD.. must watch that carefully !!

Like last year, I thinks its too predictable and unfair this year and somehow dampens my enthusiasm for the show. I so wish that all the contestants could start at the same level of competence and work their way up.

What makes you think he isn't the most popular? and who do you think is then?
I'm just wondering.

I personally hope Ray does very well, i think he does too.

Jessica is hardly an obvious finalist - she only struck me as being marginally better than Zoe and similar to Ellery just with more grace.

The problem with Ray despite the obvious which has been mentioned a million times on this forum, is that if he DOES have a shock exit, it'll technically be a shambles, cos it would prove it's about popularity and not skating. Sadly because he is so advanced over the rest I'm at the point where I wouldn't object to this, just because I want an open-ended contest. I suppose the only hope lies in the fact that, like last year with Chris, someone might come along and "out style" him, no matter what the skating ability. Chris was all show a lot of the time, so often Suzanne managed to win through on grace, partnership skills, lifts and just general pleasantness to watch. Chris could be a bit much at times - maybe this will be Ray's downfall. I truly hope so in the interests of competition.

At this stage though, it would look like a Ray/Jessica/Zoe/Ellery final 4 I should think. But I really believe Melinda could be a dark horse if she built up a fanbase - could well be Gaynor all over again. Roxanne at a long shot. Donal as a final long shot, though highly doubtful. Anyone else is impossible.

I think it a tad unfair to class dance experience against Ray, he doesn't have Ice Skating experience like Chris did but yes his dance experience is of a much higher level than Suzanne's. Ray will probably struggle at great lifts BUT he will skate with grace rythm and style - I really don't think the show is a one horse race any of about 5 could win I just hope it is on ability and not mountains of fans voting for the pro skater or celeb they 'fancy' most

I don't think Ray will struggle with great lifts as he says himself he's been doing lifts with partners in his advanced ballet classes for a lot of years

Ray will be there for sure. Even if he's in the dance-off every week the judges will save him.

His Ballet experience is nowhere near his other dancing expertises and having judged him in rock n roll and his freestyle pairs I know he is capable of lifting BUT I doubt he could match the lifting skills of the male pro skaters. I do think though that we will see improvement from Ray - he is a worker as his many dancing achievements show

Oh dear. More of a one horse race than it looked last week. Ellery and Zoe fell back a bit. Jessica isn't gaining much. Ray moves further ahead. Melinda is a big positive mover and may get somewhere and Roxanne was a bit better but thats going to require a really big leap by them. Colleen justified staying, Todd will now stay for weeks and weeks. The other Boys seem to be going nowhere. A very strange competition.
