Are the boys at an advantage next week

They will have had two weeks to practice their new routine, and the girls only one !! Seems a bit unfair.

Yeah but the girls had an extra week last week to train for their routines, as it was just the boys skating. It will all balance out now they're all skating together every week

Exactly my thoughts! The girls have had extra time so it's balanced out!

Not really. The girls were competing against themselves, all of them had a week extra so there was no advantage there.

Next week everyone is mixed, so the boys have had an extra week to choreograph and perfect their routine. And as they're competing against the girls who have only had a week, then yes they have a slight advantage.

Not that it really matters.

Actually from what i know they've done in the past they've usually started the second routine before they performed the first one. Obviously the boys have had an extra week to practice especially on this weeks routine but i expect they'll have made sure the girls get as much practice.

I had the same thought about this, but even if the girls did start the second routine before the performance last night that would certainly have put so much pressure on them, remembering which steps belong to which routine! At least the boys will have had only the one routine to practice for 2 weeks, unlike the girls, which I think does give them a distinct advantage for next week.

Plus the girls never got to perform their routines in front of a live audience at the dress rehearsal like the boys did which would have boosted their confidence more (or less if they fell lol) for the televised show last night ... is this series geared towards getting a male winner this year (ie DOI1 Gaynor - female, DOI2 Kyran - male, DOI3 Suzanne - female, DOI4 ... male?)

They seem to take it in turns (male & female)winners, we'll just have to wait and see what happens this year and see if they prove us wrong
