Is it just me who found it dire last night? You can have too much of a good thing! Do they choose their own make-up?

Roxanne looked like someone had thrown a silver sparkly tomato at her eye! And the lines coming out of Jessica's eyes were weird.

Part of loving DOI for me is the outfits, and the sparkly make-up.... but last night it was just odd. All gorgeous ladies made to look bizarre by the make up.

(And yes I promise I am paying attention to the skating too!)

I think it was Zoe's makeup that bothered me most. I watched her talk for a while, and then I had this sudden moment of realisation - hang on, I can't actually see her eyes. I see a blinding rainbow, and a slit where her eye might be.

It was Zoe's that made me examine everyone else a bit more closely! Weird half an eyelid of blue sparkles, indeed.

Melinda's was awful... she looked a bit like the joker

Jessica also had some weird eye makeup going on as well

I agree i usually love the makeup on this show they always look fantastic but so far this series i think someone has been let lose with the sparkles. Melinda and Zoe's eyes were rediculous you couldn't see them for all the sparkles and don't get me started on Jessicas weird eyeliner

Im thinking they need to ban the sparkly eye shadow next week

Melinda in the training footage weirdly seemed to have more on then then when on the live programme.

I'm surprised the make up doesn't give the girls problems. I wear contact lens and all those sparkles would play havoc with my eyes.

It's a shame when they have such glamorous outfits and then spoil the effect with the bizarre make up.

I thought that about the eye make up. It was pretty awful

There is a behind the scenes look at the Make and costumes in this weeks Radio Times. Make up designer Renee Metcalfe say that she applies £20,000 worth of glitter and fake eyelashes during the series....Way to much me thinks!

They must have to use one hell of a primer to get it to stay put (superglue?).

Melinda looked especially scary when you saw the footage of her speaking after her performance, It was like her eyelids were reacting to UV light!

I hated that very over-the-top eye make up on Melinda. Her eyes looked like little slits - hideous.

I don't like it when they put all that glitter over their face. Chris Fountain last year annoyed me as he looked so ridiculous with all the different coloured glitters over his face. It doesn't look quite as bad on the women but i still don't like it.

Last night's was a joke. Also the glitter in the decollete on a couple of them, it looked like some kid had put some glue on the skin and just thrown the whole glitter jar at them. Next week we will be wearing sun glasses to stop the distration.

The make-up is so over the top this series - they have managed to make the girls (who are all quite naturally pretty) look very unattractive. Obviously heavier make-up is needed for television but it doesn't look like that on Strictly Come Dancing!

clare's and coleen's were a bit more subtle than the others, but i thought melinda and zoe looked really pretty. roxanne could have done without the sparkle.

Dreadful... looked like an explosion in a glitter factory. Make up is supposed to enhance beauty not kill it dead.

I remember commenting that the make-up was totally ott! Was distracting. How on earth did they see with their eyelids that heavy?!?!

Zoe's hair looked as if it had bits of rags tied into it, it wasn't nice at all!

Make up was mad last night! I don't know they could open their eyes properly!

And with a name like yours there seriously must be a problem! Glitterbug is worried about the glitter! Totally see what you're saying (unlike the girl's on the show who can's see a bloomin' thing!)....

The make up is so OTT it completely distracts from the girls' interviews!

I knew someone would mention the fact that I am indeed a Glitterbug But I don't look like someone's splatted my face with a big silvery tomato ( well, I hope not ).

I quite liked it!

The eye makeup was awful - one girl (Zoe?) looked like she had one eye lower/bigger than the other - so unflattering - some of them had those rows of stick on glitter dots on their brows - yuk!

I did like Roxanne's star though.

I agree i liked the Star its just the other OTT makeup thats to much, seriously what is with that glitter eyeshadow stuff

If there's a make-up artist, he or she needs to go. If everyone does their own, then they should be told in a nice way that too much sparkle/glitter is not appropriate.
