Nokia 6220 on 3 Battery life

Hi can anyone help the wife and I have just got a couple of Nokia 6220 mobiles on Three. We are both happy with the phone in genral however the battery life is very poor less than 24hrs have i got some application draining the battery or is this normal? thanks for any help

It takes a few charges to get maximum battery life (see the manual). Make sure you haven't got things like Bluetooth constantly switched on.

Also, make sure that when you've finished doing something you choose Options - Exit rather than just hitting the hangup button - this leaves programs running in the background which can seriously suck the battery.

(Series 60 Nokias have always done this, sorry if you already knew about it!)

Hold down the Menu button to see what's still running - only one or two things should be...

Also if there's an option to, set the screen brightness at 50%.

I would also leave it charging overnight even if it says the battery is full. Leave it for the first 3 or 4 charges.

First few charges 4-6 hours. Don't charge it overnight, it will damage the battery life considerably. Phone batteries don't need an overnight charge now - mine charges from very low (under 10%) to full in around two hours, possibly less.

That's very bad advice. Overcharging a modern battery will cause a reduction in overall life and possibly damage. Fortunately, the OP's phone has a charging circuit that will stop charging when the battery is full.

Thanks for all the replies
i knew most of it just wanted to see if anybody had poor battery life.
the 2 phones were refurbs from 3 nd are now being checked by nokia express repairs so hopefully i will get the answer from them. maybe 3 have gave me some dud batteries.
