Unfortunately Corrie don't even do them well these days compared to some of those from the past & Eva v Maria is hardly going to be a fair fight anyway given the difference in size!!
That said good characters played by good actorscan still have a great rapport even as enemies, as Samia/Jane Danson had in the 00s!!
Aidan & Maria really does need to happen though, as I think this could be Maria's best pairing since her doomed pairing with Tony (though I, unlike most on here, really loved her pairing with Marcus & still haven't forgiven Phil Collinson for not taking that s/l further!!)

The scene with Aidan and Maria is tonight's second corrie was soo cute. These really have great chemistry.

I agree but surely they have to plan and film storylines far in advance so they wouldn't be able to cut short a storyline would they? Yeah I do think Adam will be a player but i think it's what will drive Aidan to confess he's feelings for Maria.

Yeah that's the one sad thing about this storyline - it's going to ruin Maria/Eva's friendship.

Just laid myself open to ridicule on the Main Forum by posting this in the episode thread but I think Samia's acting in both the arrest and the imprisonment scenes tonight was absolutely SUPERB!!
Everything I love her for as an actress, real & believable reactions to an unbelievably horrible situation!! Outwardly composed & dignified in front of ecerybody during the arrest scene but when alone & faced with the true horror of what was happening to her, losing it completely!! Don't mind admitting I was in tears with her in that last scene!!
WELL DONE SAMIA!!!!!!!

Also absolutely LOVED those early scenes with David tonight!! The history & relationship between those two is fascinating!!

You wouldn't think so would you, probably just me being paranoid but I'm really getting myself wound up over all the negative bile about this storyline!! It's a soap ffs, just go with it & enjoy it for what it is people!! I certainly am!!

Besides, for me the whole 'non existant flats' saga is far more full of holes & unbelievable!!

Exactly soap is suppose to be an escape from reality,'entertainment. People need to take it for what it is entertainment.

I'm not quite ready to see an end to Maria's traumas yet & I have been finding Caz grippingly disturbing sat spying on her webcam!! Apart from that there's still the issue that Samia has said in quite a few interviews that things get worse & it definitely won't be a happy Christmas for Maria, something that seems to have been forgotten about recently

On the subject of being forgotten about according to the RT cast list for next week it seems we are finally going to see poor Maria again at last from Monday!!

I do hope to goodness there's at least some mention of her sometime during this week's episodes though!! Such lousy writing that no one on the Street seems to care that she's locked up on a murder charge!!

I think in the interviews Samia was saying it doesn't look like it's going to be a good Christmas for Maria as in it MIGHT not be a good not that it definitely won't be a good Christmas. If that makes sense.

You will be happy to hear that the actress who plays Caz was filming today so Caz is definitely going to be around for a while yet.

Weird article, full of contradictions!!
If it happens & she goes to prison for the sham marriage, that's fair enough, i have said all along that as much as I love Maria there should be consequences from that s/l & Samia would do a great job playing it out but I don't buy Samia wanting more time off?? She has been buzzing about her storylines since she came back!!

We will have to wait & see I guess but good to know the Caz stuff isn't finished with yet!! If she does escape next week I guess Kate's put herself in danger too now!!

You could be right about Samia's interviews, she does have a habit of being a bit 'cryptic' sometimes, as with that occasion earlier in the year when she said about filming her 'saddest scenes ever' & we had half the cast dying before it was announced Ossie was going to pass away!!

Whatever the outcome any Maria drama is good drama in my book!!

Well this was Samia on Saturday just gone and she seemed fine and as you've said she's been buzzing about her storylines so I don't see why she would request time off.

Also Samia and Shayne were filming on Friday, they were both off Mon,Tues so obviously their current scenes being filmed are together. Also they film 6 weeks in advanced sometimes more at Christmas so the cast can have a Christmas break. This means they shounpbe currently filming early Jan scenes. These clothes that Samia was wearing didn't look like clothes someone would wear in prison.

She does come across as such a naturally lovely person, I've always thought so since the first time I saw her interviewed on This Morning around the time of Liam's birth (which unless I'm mistaken you yourself uploaded onto YouTube for which I'm eternally grateful!! )
Don't worry about 'rambling', I've just sometimes been guilty of that myself where Samia/Maria is concerned & I see where you are coming from with what you say about filming, clothes etc!! Does make the article look faker than Weatherfield constabulary doesn't it!!!
