I’m getting worried at the amount of time that Camoron is spending in our city, why doesn’t he go back to his beloved Orkney and switch on their F****** Christmas lights and leave us in peace.

I’ve got a good mind to have a quite word with the Provost and warn him not to get on Camoron’s wrong side, or he will have to watch out for eggs smashing off the back of his head while he gets his lights punched out.

There is a whole day of festive fun lined up in Aberdeen as the countdown to the switch on of the city's Christmas Lights starts in the afternoon and culminates in the early evening on 16 November.
Santa makes an early appearance at the Castlegate just after midday on his sleigh pulled by real reindeer and will parade up Union Street to the Trinity Shopping Mall accompanied by pantomime characters and clowns.
Later in the afternoon the main event of the day will be the colourful Electric Parade that leave Marischal College at around 4.45pm and make its way through the city centre to Castlegate where the city's Lord Provost and Cameron of Big Brother fame will be waiting to flick the switch and set the city aglow with hundreds of dazzling lights.

Other events in the build up to Christmas include the Aberdeen Christmas Market (6 & 7, 13 & 14 December) and the International Street Market (22 & 23 November). "

Shame that Shameron doesn't stick to his Christian principles and help out children in need with his winnings and earnings from BB, rather than using it as a PR excercise for his rapidly fading career.

I don't think Cam should be slated for helping out Children in Need . Events like children in need are dependent on celebrities taking part and if Cam had declined to take part he would have been slated as being uncharitable for that. The children helped by CinN need all the help they can get...even Cams.

Fair enough, but you'd think some more Y-grade celebs would help out before they had to scrape the bottom of the barrel and ask Stout.

What pleasure are you getting out of this ben? If you're knocking Cameron for taking part in Children in need then they don't come any lower than you. It's what you would expect from the gutter press.

I suppose its more to do with the inability of the local education system to produce worthy christmas-illumination celebs Cameron is the most famous Orcadian since ........ well all-time maybe. I think he will be a major celeb in that area for a few years yet and might even be stuffed after his death so as not to upset his busy schedule or cause political instability in the area.

it has to be remembered that Allan Stewert is no longer a top performer. His impressions of famous people sounding like him are no longer the crowd puller they once was (who can forget his middle-class scottish "oooooooooo ..... betty" ?)

Funny choice of celebrity endorsement on Children in need.
Is he taking his belt with him?

Like it's any skin off his nose to turn up and reap some benefit from this.
All he has to do is pretend that he really cares about people and stuff. So then he gets a bit of exposure, and he looks good at the same time too. You can't ask for any better PR than that.

Remember to consider the fact that he isn't really that bothered if children get the belt, let alone a good hiding.

It wasn't more than a couple of years ago we saw an ad campaign on TV higlighting the abuse of children. The one where characters on childrens bedroom posters, and childrens toys and whatnot, are shown covering up their ears and eyes when their parent's are knocking seven bells out of thir kids, just out of camera shot.

Now this hypocritical opportunist is going to be shown being all lovey dovey with kids, pretending that he really cares about the plight of the suffering.
Only the reality is that he would probably have no problem enforcing his own draconian discipline on them if they were his own kids.

The fake prophet strikes again,..showing his duplicitous motives.


This guy is hardly that much on the side that speaks out against physical abuse against children.
If we go by what we already know,..he leans more to the side that believes in giving kids a good leathering.

He'd be the last "celebrity" who I'd have on Children in Need,..lying through his back teeth that he really cares about such serious issues.

Of course, not that many saw BB4,.so it's probably best they didn't know,..let this first class chump talk his shit in the name of charidee.
It is some kind of sick, bad taste irony, but you never know, some good might come of it as long as nobody knows what a **** Cameron actually is.
As long as they think he's sincere and caring, and have no idea he's just trying to promote himself as a good wholesome person as good PR for his TV image, then things will probably be okay.

Every time he opens his mouth it seems that he is making some big moral statement to confirm to us all what a wonderful chap he is.
Why doesn't he just relax a bit, and stop being so pretentious? If he did that, maybe people would stop thinking of him as such a fu*king git.

Cameron is just making out he's some great role model ..again,..just to raise his profile.

It does feel terribly cynical to write this, as Children In Need is a *brilliant* cause.

There are also many actors, sports personalities and others in the public eye who do wonderful work for so many worthy charities without a thought for their own personal gain but the fact is that Children In Need and Comic Relief *are* hyped up "events".

Sometimes I've watched them, and felt an underlying smugness at times. You watch a segment of a celeb flying out to Africa and their body language sometimes does give the sense that they think "this is going to do my career no end of good."

There's a complete incongruity as you point out, Alrightmate, about Stout's participation, given that I can't remember a single instance in the BB4 house where he ever put himself out to show kindness or any genuine philanthropic solicitude to anyone else - whereas Jon, for example, was always willing to go out of his way to help individuals in the house (Scott, Nush, Tania) and for the group as a whole (trying to organise a system for mastering the bell-ringing task so they could win and all have more to eat and drink - pity it didn't work out but that task was impossible - and immediately volunteering to guess the others' charades so that other people could get into the reward room for the night).

And at the risk of sounding like a real grouchy leftie, it's times like this you realise that the government are doing a really sh*t job with our taxes when they need to mobilise charity events like this to provide decent facilities and TLC for our kids.

i don't see that thats strictly necessary - simply *getting the belt* never really did anyone that much harm, and can't really be compared to the sorts of extreme physical abuse something like Children in Need might highlight.
