All you need is a dvd recorder and a scart lead
You can get a reasonably good dvd recorder for about £125...If you can borrow one instead then all the better

I agree it, wasn't that bad, but I need better than "not that bad" to part with my hard earned pounds!
If I saw it reduced to a fiver at some point in a few years, then I'd have it in hopes of having some of my favourite couples' dances on a nice DVD, but £15 quid for a "best of" when none of my favourites made it to the final three and the series as a whole wasn't that exciting (for me) would just not be worth it at all.

If as I suspect you are trying to sell home recorded copies of SCD then you are breaking copyright laws and risk serious trouble. Also I think you might be going against the rules of this forum.

My thoughts exactly. I'd pay for the previous series - but not the last one.
Last night after the Nottingham show I met the guy producing the Series 6 DVD and the tour DVD. He said the Series 6 DVD is due out in Feb/Mar, it apparently includes a lot of previously unseen footage of Tom and Camilla backstage immediately after they were announced the winners.
The tour DVD will be released in November apparently, just in time for the Christmas market.
I quizzed him as to why a Series 5 DVD had not yet been produced and didn't really get much of an answer - the impression I get is that the people in the position to make the decisions re these matters aren't really great fans of the show as we are so they probably don't understand why we would want a Series 5 DVD more than a Series 6 DVD!! Although I did attempt to explain the reasons why obviously

I think that whoever you supporteds this year that there were many really strong dances throughout series 6 that well deserve to be put onto DVD.

Unfortunately, the BBC have recognised that there is a market for dance performances to be seen again and again and they want to cash in.....again.
With the removal of all uploads onto Youtube it has stopped all of the lovely innovation by those loyal fans that worked hard to capture what they loved about their favourites.
I cannot see that there would be a high percentage of Youtube viewers that have not already paid their licence fee. I know that it goes beyond this and into copyright of image, song etc etc but it just seems so swingeing, particularly as the BBC website itself gets lots of problems with the playlist part meaning that you cant even go to that site and be assured that you will beable to see the dances that you want to.

I've managed to watch bits of the series 6 dvd. There are two disks. The first one contains snippets of all the dances from every week and all the dances from the semi final and final in full. The coverage from each week (from the ones I've seen) lasts about ten minutes long and is a bit like the recap from the results show. They don't show the dance off, just the bit under the lights when the save couples are announced and then the judges saying which couple they want to save.
The second disk is all the extras - some of the pro dances, the group dances, Bruce's two routines (with Anton and the professional/celebrity women from the final), and a section on the judges (about two and a half minutes long!) For those interested the pro dance section includes the group tango, the group Paso Doble, Brian and Kristina's mambo, Anton and Flavia's comedy routine with Erin and Vincent, Vincent and Flavia's Milonga (sp?) and Argentine tango demos, a group jive and the returning champions' dance from the final. There's also a behind the scenes bit from the final which I haven't had time to watch yet.
All in all I think it's not a bad buy if you shop around and avoid paying full price. Like lots of people on this thread I think it's a pity there isn't one from series 5.

I had no real interest in buying this series 6 one, more series 5 I was looking for. but the pro dances make it a bit more appealing for me, so I might push the boat out and get it for that alone.All in all it sounds like a good DVD if you had a favourite couple from this year, especially those that reached the final.
