Sharp practices from Vodafone? Surely not...

I recently had an 'upgrade' from Vodafone... I'm staying on the same contract and i got a new 'free' handset, plus they are giving me a £10 discount on my £25pm deal for the duration of the 18 month contract.

I got a letter through confirming my contract extension but no mention of the £10 discount. Slightly alarmed, I called them up again and I was told that the discount would not be shown on the letter, and I should have been told this. So all ok... but since then it's been nagging at me that I only have their word for this, no written confirmation, and I am worried I will get my next bill and it will still be the £25 deal, my 14 days cooling off will have expired and they will claim ignorance!

I know they record some (all?) calls but I don't know how long they keep them....

Surely a reputable company like Vodafone wouldn't stoop to this?

My wife was offered a equiv of approx £10 monthly discount as a brand new customer and it was mentioned that it would not show up on the letter

The letter came it did not show up as mentioned , she rang them up just to clarify, they said "Don't worry" it is on your notes

The first bill came through and NO £10 discount was applied , she phoned them up and got it credited and also a credit for a months free insurance and the delivery charge

So beware .

it never shows up on the letter, it does say something on the letter to that effect.

it's is a bit odd that they never confirm to you the exact deal you've agreed.

personally i would wait a few days but still inside your 14 days and give them a call to confirm your contract terms.

i'm sure they wouldn't mind you recording it.
