I think the show would have to be renamed Strictly Come Dancing for Children In Need or Children In Need Does Strictly Come Dancing for that to happen.

Since the strict guidelines were brought in regarding phone votes and competitions I believe the programme must have the name of the charity in the title, like Let's Dance for Comic Relief or the now axed Comic Relief Does Fame Academy had.

On another note I think the phone votes for Strictly 08 should have been revealed like ITV did with Celebrity and X-Factor, what big secret was it.. But thats that..

Anyways this thread is for Let's Dance, which is gonna be produced live from the historic Ealing Studios. Can't say I recall any light entertainment shows coming from there in the recent past!

I'm not sure it's going to be live as the first programme is being done on Feb. 14th and yet the BBC aren't showing it until Feb. 21st I believe.

The lineup has been revealed for the first heats of Let's Dance For Comic Relief.

Members of the cast of EastEnders will join Les Dennis, Christopher Biggins, Nicky Chapman, Robert Webb, Dick and Dom and a number of celebrity chefs to re-create famous dance moves from popstars and films in the series premiere.

The show will feature a live performance from The Saturdays, who will sing their Comic Relief single 'Just Can't Get Enough'.

The second heat will feature Jo Brand, the cast of Hollyoaks, Blue Peter presenters, Keith Lemon, Paddy McGuinness, Neil Fox, Nancy Sorrell and the stars of Dragons' Den.

Dancers in all three heats will be assessed by head panellist Anton Du Beke, who will be accompanied by two guest judges.

The panel and public will combine to decide which competitors make it through to the dance-off on Red Nose Day weekend.

Let's Dance For Comic Relief starts on Saturday, 21 February on BBC One.

Sounds great fun and a great way to raise money for Comic relief - my only problem with it is they are using the wrong Jones - should have gone for Gethin!!!

Thats exactly what im thinking. They're using this show to try out new judges and what better way than to change the guest judges every week. Therefore giving them the opportunity to try out around 8 potential replacement judges. And audition Anton for Brucies or Lens job at the same time. Very smart of them.

I know

Damn you BBC it should have been Aled!

Just kidding... I'd prefer either over smug Steve though.

Let's Dance for Comic Relief Saturday 21 February
6:35pm - 8:00pm
BBC1

1/4

Close your eyes and imagine a cross between Celebrity Fame Academy and Strictly Come Dancing. Failing that, conjure up the Dance of the Hours sequence in Fantasia - you know, the one with the dancing hippos, because that's what this year's fundraising shows are more likely to look like. The idea is that 18 celebrity acts (both groups and individuals) compete to re-create a different iconic dance routine each week. For the next month they'll be twirling their way through movie classics such as Saturday Night Fever and pop classics such as Thriller, while the six finalists (as voted for by us and a panel of judges) will perform in a "spectacular" (does that mean they'll be making an even bigger spectacle of themselves?) dance-off on Comic Relief weekend. It sounds terrific but, while we'd guess that this week's turns Dick and Dom and Robert Webb are capable of the odd rhythmic move, we're less sure about next week's - Jo Brand and the Dragons' Den lot. Will we see a John Sergeant figure emerging from their midst?
