Music Streaming Set Up Help Please.
I've got a 1TB NAS drive that holds all my digital music. I replay the music via the speakers on my wireless laptop using Winamp. I also have a wirelessly attached XBox 360 that is connected to my home cinema system.
What I'd like to be able to do is use Winamp - or WMP or Foobar, or anything else suitable - on the laptop to select music from the NAS drive, and then stream the music to the Jamo via the XBox. Is that possible? It seems feasible, after all the links are all in place. any help or suggestions would be appreciated. cheers, colin |

Thanks for the mockery Chris. Fact is, I have googled this subject extensively, and none of your hasty links actually do what I asked.
I was hoping that there may be a forum member looking in who had actually achieved and is using a solution to my original question. The key requirement here is choosing the music using a computer, and playing it on the xbox. colin |

![]() It looks like what you want is going to be available in Windows 7 whenever it is released. The feature is called 'Play To...' and it allows you to push content from a PC to a media player such as an XBox 360. Personally I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than put my trust in a brand new operating system from MS just to get a feature like this. Anyway, the link to a discussion about this feature is here ![]() Regards Chris |

iTunes and an Apple Airport Express would do what you want assuming you already have a wireless network set up.

Low cost solution: Pinnacle soundbridge(s) (aka old Roku) + upnp enabled NAS (usually twonkymedia)
Midrange: Squeezebox (classic / duet / boombox) + Squeezecenter on NAS Top range: Squeezebox transporter / Linn majik + either of above media server on NAS |
