Well, none of the features/bugs is really a killer so they may as well take their time and get the thing really polished before the next release. I'd rather they did that as updates usually introduce at least a couple of minor new bugs so the fewer the better.

It will be interesting to see what they do. If they do well they could turn this product from a very good one to a superb one.

My box suffered from freezing up which seemed to occur when recordings started. I lived with that for a few weeks but today it finally packed up. The receiver booted after switching off and the Humax logo was displayed momentarily, then nothing at all. I could change channels according to the display but still nothing on the screen. I checked the HDMI cable, my amp and even re-connected to old SKY box to confirm there was a signal. Still nothing, so I had to return it to Comet for a refund. I’ll wait until the product has matured and a few more HD channels are available before buying again. Until then, its BT Vision.

You just had a faulty box not a bug.

Interestingly, there's a guy posting about recording problems on BT vision at the moment PLUS they've told him he must leave his TV permanently in standby in order to make recordings - thats a lot of electricty on some tv's:

Hes had 3 boxes and 2 engineers.

In my experience of consumer electronics, Humax have been the best example of a company that responds to customer requests and concerns.

I first bought a Humax Freeview 800T PVR (single tuner) many years ago when it first came out and, since then, after experiencing their willingness to improve the product, I have bought the Freeview 9200T PVR and the Freesat HD products.

I will have no hesitation, in future, about buying their products. Buy what you know!

White-Knight.

I stand corrected, a failure rather than a bug. But the lock-ups I experienced prior to failure were, I expect, bug related

In my experience, it is the slowest to respond, and will put the bug fixes in a major software update that has even more newer bugs!
