bbci player how?
When freesat said that they would do bbci player on freesat how would they deliver it to our boxes over night downloads like sky anytime or like virgin as soon as the programmes finished and on within the hour?.Plus would the normal freesat boxes like the humax hd and other boxes get it or just the hdrs.

I'm pretty convinced that you won't be able to store it. I reckon at least for the first year or so it'll be a streaming only thing.

I'm with streaming only for the non hdr boxes, similar to the Wii streaming. If they can encode effectively then possibility of storing it perhaps, fancy some technical issues need to be resolved first

Well, for non hard drive boxes, short of using a USB stick for temporary storage it's going to have to be streaming isn't it?
But, as I have said before not everyone has a decent connection so it would make great sense IMO to have the iPlayer data stored on the hard drive of my Foxsat HDR. Without a storage facility, iPlayer functionality will be of no use to me as i have such poor ADSL speed. We'll see, sooner rather than later hopefully. jono |
