In this case it wasn't Freesat.

I started watching it on Freesat and noticed this. I invited my GF in to watch it (she'd been watching it on a portable tv on analogue terrestrial) and she said the drop outs were on analogue also.

Looks like a general ITV problem therefore not a specific Freesat issue.

Its not the 1st time this problem has happened with the sound on ITV live broadcasts.

Not sure I can agree with that. I was watching in SD which had crap picture but full sound then switched to HD. Good pic. but gaps in sound. Switched back and forth a few times 'cos I couldn't decide which was more watchable. Settled for HD.
