For me too - Jonny is probably the bottom of all four series' imo!
Cameron comes a close second, then the total wannabe's (Justine etc), but for dislikeable underhand characters I think Jonny still takes the biscuit.
”

At last, something we can all agree on

( but back to my little problem..no one has offered to buy me the car yet )

The way I saw it at the time, Alex was simply giving the truth about why work had been slow in the last few months - ie. why he was ready for a different experience, try something new and why he wanted to go in to the house, which was what the video was all about.
”

If as Alex has said, the 9/11 tragedy "scuppered" his career and the Armani campaign was his "big break" then this confirms what I have said on a number of occasions that his modelling career was in decline and what work he had done up to then was as a journeyman model and not as successful as some have made him out to be.
It also confirms that he didn't go into the house just for a laugh but did hope it would boost his career, something else I also pointed out and was yet again pilloried for. ..................only by the Alex angels though.

"scuppered"?! When did he say that? I'll have to dig my DVD out to check it but I don't remember him saying anything about "scuppered"!

9/11 triggered a slump in the advertising industry which affected just about everyone working in it - Alex as well as everyone else. So what? He had the gumption to do something about it. Typical of him I'd say, he seems extremely resourceful.

Anyway, now where is that DVD.....

They said at the time that they were going to an animal park in St Albans I think. They also said that Alex (who was by far the kindest of the housemates to the chickens) would be very welcome to visit them any time he liked.

I actually do have the BB3 DVD, which I received as a Christmas present and which I accepted with the same resigned graciousness when your auntie buys you another pair of socks....

The exact quote is....

"In October, I shot the Armani campaign, which was like my big break, but unfortunately when the airplanes crashed into the twin towers all eyes were focused in on that and my big break went unnoticed."

Anon2 can defend Alex's actions in the house all he/she likes, but at the time this video was all anyone had to go on.

For me, this statement betrayed an overly casual "me me me" attitude and he came across as thoughtless and crassly self-centred.

"What a ****," summed up my general feelings. No, I didn't much care for Alex Sibley.

Indeed, not even Stout quite matches up to Jonny in terms of overall vileness.

I was quoting from Ben's post but "scuppered" is exactly what Alex meant though wasn't it.

No, definitely not, which is why he didn't say it.

What he said was that things were a bit quiet at the moment - which reflected the general slump in advertising. Its clear from all the stuff he'd done in the recent past - there was lots of it in the press while he was in the house and later - that he was still getting plenty of work.

Contrast, for instance, the stuff we've seen that Alex has done and how well he was known in the advertising industry with what we've seen and heard of Federico's modelling career. Alex was clearly a successful model and over a lengthy period - you mightn't want to accept that but it doesn't make it any less true.

It depends how you define successful.
Before BB, Alex's level of success had allowed him to indulge his passion for fast cars and become the proud owner of a Volkswagen Beetle and to continue enjoying the comforts of still living at home with his parents.

If I could have afforded a brand new VW Beetle at the age of 23 I'd have considered myself quite a success.

Infact I wouldnt mind being able to afford one now

..and the choice to live with his parents may not have been a financial one..he might actually like it there

Couldn't agree more.

The Sibley's clearly adore each other so I'm sure he does like living there. And its a pretty palatial home let's face it!!! You'd have to be doing spectacularly well to be able to afford somewhere half as posh.

I think Richard Sibley is great. He seems brave and outspoken, like his son. Pity there aren't more people like them around, IMO.

Yes and oranges would be safe from the outrages of being juggled and showers from outpourings of...
What?
He whined his way through BB3 like a whining thing! Moan moan moan!!
I have to say though, his Father did have a go at Dom Jolly which I enjoyed as I really do NOT like what HE said about Alex and his family.

What an awful thing to say maisy, I thought better of you

Alex's father is unconventional yes, he has a terrific off-the-wall sense of humour in combination with intelligence and kindness.
Alex's mother seems an absolute darling, loving and giving in addition to the above.
I remember BBLB on the final night, Dermot and Davina, 'a yummy mummy' etc plus several other compliments for them, I have seen nothing different since.
Also at the BBLB awards from Dermot - we have Jacqui, we have the Sibleys- (applause) - the camera cannot go to any other tables....!

The Sibleys seem very close, no wonder Alex is still happy there, he has had his freedom abroad for many years at times and I am sure he still has yet knows he always has a secure and loving place as his base.
How lucky is he? Many would trade for that.

ps. fifthed
and Maisy yes, just saw that - the Dom Joly moment was great.
