I thought what Nicky said about Robin telling him how to vote was utterly disgusting.

Youd think after all the voting scandals of late they would have thought this through.

If Nicky wants to score higher than 5 he should be able to. It makes a mockery of the show and the scoring

But what's the point in having the scores if they can't show any improvement? If Ray gets 30 in week 3 then carries on improving, it can't be reflected. Robin isn't fixing anything, he's just capping it for the moment.

Ray's skate was one of, if not the best, ever. If they were voting how they wanted he'd be getting 29/30 every week. What is the use in that?

I very much doubt it was Robin, most likely the producers' idea so there is somewhere to go.

They (or Nicky) might break ranks or lobby Robin to be allowed to give Ray 5.5 next week.

This meant no matte rhow Ray skated you already knew that Nicky could only give him 5.

To be honest, it doesn't. It would be boring if every week Ray got almost perfect scores. You've still got to show him improving as I'm sure he will improve.

no if he skated badly he could get from 0 to 5. I think the need to implement .1 changes in the scores now.

But this would only be for the beginning of the series - towards the end they will be given full reign to give whatever mark they chose.

Which I think is a good idea

I thought it was out of order that he told Nicky how to score.

Its the old problem - do you give 6 in week 2 marking on a week two standard and then give a harder to get 6 in week 10 because you are marking to a harder standard by then? Or do you start by giving something relatively very good 5 in week 3 and keep the 6 for something really good at week 10 standard. They ought to decide - preferably every judge deciding the same way..........

What some are doing is marking Jill at week 6 standard whilst others are giving Jack a gold star 4.5 for managing to stay up longer than last week.

wont matter anyway - clear that todd is going to win now. judges can keep quinn in as long as they want but ultimately the public are going to do a john sargeant on this.

and im so glad. hate quinn.

You know, this and Ruthie calling Nicky out made me wish this had happened on SCD:

A) The score cap: early on, some ridiculous scores were being given on SCD. Even with DoI I think the scores from Nicky this week were ludicrous for some dancers, but at least the cap gives room for improvement.

B) Ruthie asking Nicky where next?: Right for her to do IMO. Nicky's scores were ridiculous and were undermining the totals overall. At least with Jason you can see where he was coming from. I just wish someone had called out Len and Bruno about marking on SCD. Interesting...after Ruthie asked him about it, Nicky's marking became much more sensible.

It bothered me more Nicky saying that he knew how much he was gonna give Coleen BEFORE she skated.

Robin was just doing his job as 'head judge' or what ever he is called on DOI.

Nicky's scores were ridiculous and Ruthie was brave to speak up on live TV imho. Nicky should know better quite frankly - I've lost any respect I ever had for him.

To be fair Robin did not fix the score for Ray, to be fair Robin is head judge and also it would not be on the others if Ray got 6.0 so early in the competition. Ray did not deserve higher than the 5.0 he got. I like Nicky but I think he was far to lenient with giving 4.5 to people who did not deserve it.

I agree with FUDD. Strictly was ruined by overscoring this year.

6 at this early stage means there is no-where to go later and I think that some of them will deserve tops marks as they progress.

I was very pleased to hear the scores were capped.

It's the same old story - it's not the actual marks that matter apart from the entertainment side of things, it's the position on the leader board.

Actually, I don't think they had that problem on SCD so much. There were a few odd scores, but think of it this way - the first 40 didn't even get given out until week 10 and I think the first 10 was week 9.

Did you hear Ruthie question Nicky about Ray's score being worth only .5 more than Coleen's 4.5?
What was that all about or did I miss something?
