Ridiculous
I think DOI is going exactly the same way as SCD did with John Sargeant.
Todd might have been really funny tonight, but he is the worst skater that has ever been on the show. If you think that he has had about 6 or 7 weeks solid training and still looks like he has stepped on to the ice for the very first time, it is ridiculous that he has been voted through. I am not being a killjoy or anything like that, as I like Todd Carty as a person, but the show is about skating ability and he does not have any, it is not called lets be really bad but give everyone a laugh on ice is it. |

The show is also about entertainment and at this early stage of the competition I really dont mind Todd staying whilst some of the others leave.

When he improves a bit and becomes average it won't be funny and he'll be out. Don't worry!

it's the old argument though - its about entertainment as well. personally, i found him more entertaining than any of the others - hence he deserves to get through.
heck, he deserves to win. |

Judges just need to say nice encouraging things about him. Then hopefully he'll go - I dont think mediocre is entertaining frankly - this public mentality that its fun to watch rubbish and hard work and progress is some sort of sin is really annoying.

SCD was far worse - not only were the voters voting for the worst the best only survived on the judges marks and even the final order had little to do with dancing. DOI in the last two series has at least got its best people to the last 2. |

Even though I hate to see better skaters (or dancers )go out whilst the rubbish ones stay in, tonight Todd was brilliant entertainment and I would rather watch him than someone like Jeremy Edwards who was so up himself!

heck, he deserves to win. I wouldn't go that far, but it sure was entertaining. He should change his act and come out dressed as a clown, because if that routine had been planned we'd all think it was wonderful. It actually looked like a "serious" clown routine. |

Oh dear. I knew this would happen. Why is some people have no sense of humour? I loved John Sargeant on Strictly. His paso doble and cha cha cha were absoloutley hilarious.
Todd was very funny tonight. Its early days yet and its not like a very strong skater has been sacrificed for him. What the moaners don't realise is that the public do see sense in the end. JS would never have won Strictly and Todd will not win DOI, but people want enterainment and thats what the rubbish ones give. |

Funnily enough while he was performing I was thinking "Todd is the next John Seargeant" and then he skated out of the rink and I absolutely howled with laughter! I was crying with tears streaming down my face, my stomach hurt with laughng so much.
I've been ill all this week with the flu and it's my birthday today and my god that was the best laugh I've had all week! I know you feel aggreived OP and you make very good points however Todd will not be in the show for long as soon as he is in a skate off he will be gone. The GBP will tire of him and he will go. For now it's good entertainment. |

This world is so depressing at the moment with war and recession everywhere and to have someone make you laugh once in a while is a great thing. Theres not enough laughter in the world IMO and Todd gave that tonight.
Who gives a flying fig about best dancer and skater. If Todd can entertain the majority with some harmless fun and laughter then I for sure think he should be there. Its an entertainment programme and boy did he entertain me tonight. |

I am not aggrieved as I could not really care, the show was on because my wife loves it and I watch along with her, so I could not really care who wins, stays or whatever.
I just thought that the show was about Dancing on Ice, as that is what it is called. Todd can hardly stand up on the ice after 7 weeks training, which is bad. The thing is, yes it was funny when he went off the ice, but it just proves how bad a skater he is, if we want to watch something funny then watch a comedy, not an ice skating show. I am not being horrible here and it might be entertaining, but it is a reality show about the best skaters and he is not one of them, but if you think that is OK then fine and I am sorry I even made the point. I wonder why the really bad singers do not win the X Factor, as some of them are really funny and really entertaining, but they never get through, so what is the difference, as that is an entertainment show as well. |

Todd skating Bolero? It's so absurd it HAS to be true in a way, can you imagine?
I hate better skaters going, but Jeremy was no loss at all. Really quite pleased he's out actually. He was bland and wouldn't have gone far I feel. I think everything else left however has real potential in their own way, so for this week alone I don't mind Todd going through. |

I'd never seen Todd as a comic actor before but he is clearly a natural. I hope that DOI brings him comedy roles on TV.

It's like the argument every year for X Factor. It is not a talent show it is an entertainment show. By the end of the run we will have a winner but in the early stages it is about entertainment, and Todd certainly entertained tonight!

Maybe Todd should go on the next DOI tour to keep the audience amused and entertained!
