....in case she is unwell during the pregnancy, or is it highly unlikely that one would be needed, timing and all that?

I think she's about 16 weeks or so at the mo (maybe not even that, so she shouldn't need to go before the end of the series assuming everything goes ok for her.

She is pregnant not ill and I don't think anyone is likely to ask her to hump the bins out lol.

The show will be finished before she needs to take maternity leave and I can't see any reason why she would need a replacement -presumably they don't line one up for Phil in case he trips on the stairs?

She is pregnant, nothing else, so it should not even be a major problem.

She is only standing there asking the judges their opinion, so it is not as if they are asking her to do anything that is going to over exert her.

The answer to your question is that I am sure they have someone waiting on standby, in case she is taken ill.

Personally thinking do they actually need Holly at all?

Judging by the posts from some of the men .....um yes they do LOL.

I suppose as the women have the Silver Fox it is fair.

ITV would be stupid not to have someone in mind, and that would go for Phil too.

If all goes well with Holly's pregnancy, there is no reason that she won't be able to continue to present, but I've known several women who have had to give up work prior to their due maternity leave for various reasons. Holly has the advantage over some working mums to be that this is just one day a week, so unless she takes on other work, she's not working full time and can rest up for the rest of the week.

Rehearsals?

I think she works more than one day a week, but I know what you mean.

They do the rehearsals on the Sunday!

She might do some prep during the week, but I'm pretty sure Sunday is the only day she and Phillip turn up to the DOI studio.

Mylene lost her place on The One Show, despite being in early labour on her last appearance and look what happened to her replacement Christine Breakley!

Myleene didnt lose her place, was offered her job back on the one show, they even had advertisied her start back date and but she changed her mind and decided to leave.
I'd imagine they have a replacements lined up for both her and philip incase they get sick or something, or one would just do it on there own. But she seems fine at the moment, and as pointed out lots of woman work right up until labour if the job suits.
