Did Melinda do a step sequence?

If so, which part of her routine was it, and how many steps were in it?

I'm not sure at how many steps there were, but at the very end of the routine, her and Fred begain the step sequence .

Hmm. Watching it again, I see (or hear) that the voiceover says the sequence is right at the end, but even in the slow-motion clip, it's hard to spot a sequence of steps.

It's strange anyway that it's at the very end. I wonder if they were worried that she might fall or mess up and so wanted to make sure most of the routine was out of the way first.

Someone else`s step routine was hardly noticeable. One of the females, will have to watch again to see which one it was.

Was it Zoe's? My colleague asked me whether that was the bit she mucked up but I honestly can't remember seeing any toe pick steps in her routine.

I'd be happy to be proven wrong though.

Zoe's step sequence was good if I recall. I think she tripped before then. She did a good job to recover, I'd have been flat on my backside

Melindas step sequence included a few picks and turns, it was nice.
Rays were excellent and included a spin
Michaels were good too
Although he was holding Suzie's hand, Todds steps were ok too although he didn't use his blade that much. (bless him doing his backwards lemons) haha.
Roxannes were the same at Todds really but she was more confident doing them.
Jessica's were right at the beginning of her routine and were really good. I love watching this girl skate.
Donal tripped doing his. Shame as they looked like would have been ok.
Colleen did a good job with hers too.

Yep I'm sad and I've just watched it again this morning while LO is asleep

I don't think Coleen did much of a step-sequence either and like my friend said, she never seemed to let go of her partner, who seemed to either drag her along or lift her up off the ice and she doesn't seem able to skate on her own!

I cant view ITV`s clips and cant find Jessica`s routine on youtube.

Was it her who lacked a decent step sequence?

Roxanne's was good.

I actually barely noticed Jessica's the first time, but rewatched and they were very good.

Jessica's was at the beginning. Those turns they did were toe steps.

Is there any set rules on this? Everyone's steps were so different, from doing it solo for a prolonged period, to tentatively managing a couple while holding hands. I hope that's taken into consideration for the marking. Pretty sure Donal's were alone, and looked like they could have been one of the best if he'd pulled it off. I assume you can do as many and as little as you like, with or without support, but that better count in the marks - the same for ALL required elements, especially the jumps.

The required element was a toe step sequence but but contestants didn't all look like they were very successful with the "toe" part and so some of them looked like step sequences rather than toe step sequences. All the routines did incorporate the required element though, regardless of how well it was actually performed.

It's not the contestants' choice. The required elements are determined by Chris and Jayne, who also do all the choreography. I think Chris and Jayne base the choreography for each routine - including the incorporation of the required element - according to the contestant's ability.

Hardly a step sequence...she only pointed her left or right foot once.

I really think the judges should mark the dancers on the weekly challenge/dance step otherwise it's just pointless highlighting it when it meant nothing for the judges when they score points.

Also IMO Melinda & Coleen did not deserve that 4.5 from dopey Nicky. They were nowhere near that score!
