Okay, I appreciate that I am going to be shot down by two groups of people here: 1) the music snobs who refuse to give any boyband or "pop" music a chance, and therefore despise ALL Westlife tunes; and 2) the anti-cover brigade who refuse to give any cover a chance because they're 'never as good as the original'. Nonetheless, I'm going to take the chance...

I have to say that I really like this version of this song. If you've not already guessed, this is a cover of Barry Manilow's Mandy (which itself was a cover, I believe). It's not overly different from the original but just different enough to give it a bit of edge. It's certainly sung well - even though I'm not a huge fan of these guys, they do have reasonable voices.

My only concern is that thanks to The Simpsons, I keep wanting to sing "oh Margie, you came and you bought me a turkey, on my vacation from workie"...

So much for Westlife having a 'big change' in their music. Last one didn't get to number one so we'll churn out the same old crap?

It would be better if they came out with the same crap, as i've already said pop stars shouldn't experiment.

I really like 'Mandy' too, and I'm not a Westlife fan at all. 'If I Let You Go', 'My Love' and 'Bop Bop Baby' arent half bad either.

The question is, when performing it "live", will they get off their chairs for the key change?!?!

I'm just not a westlife fan. I also felt let down about the whole "We are changing are musical direction" - and then go and do another ballad cover.

Sorry, but this song is terrible. Disliked the song anyway, and they haven't done anything to change my mind.

I think pop stars should experiment, if they just churn out the same old same old all the time then their fans will get bored and they'll lose sales. For example witness Westlife's recent lack of singles success, perhaps if they had tried something different they might have done better.

Plus, as others have said, stars should not go on about changing their direction and then just churning out the same stuff over and over again.

Crap cover version by a crap band. Why can't they write their own songs. There is 5 people in this band surely they can write some songs instead feeling tracks up on an album with cover versions. Something original would help

Why feel let down if you not a fan?

People seem to forget that Westlife are a Pop Band, They make great Pop songs and if that means doing Covers then so be it.

I feel let down because I thought westlife had got them in a corner over the last 4 years with ballads/covers and that they were stuck there.

Then they announce they are going try out a more upbeat style on their next album, and I thought "Hey this would be great if they proved me wrong and could change."

But they i've jumped right back and achieved one of there worst singles.

This is why I feel let down.

They said recently that they did not want to do covers anymore. But Mr Cowell told them to do it!

If any of you watch Angel - that song has appeared on that a few times too!

What you may not realise is that Westlife hate the song too! Cowell forced them to do it basicly, this way or the highway.

If that's the case then more fool Simon Cowell for making them do another dire middle of the road track. It's not exactly going to win them a whole new league of fans, is it.

If Westlife want to continue in the music business, then they need to 1. Re-invent themselves and stick to it 2. Take more control of the music they release, why release songs you hate?

I'm no Westlife fan and would certainly never buy their CDs, but credit where credit is due. They don't need to reinvent themselves. This will be number one, their 12th, and if I was them I'd hang on for another three years to break all the records of Elvis, and the Beatles of having the most number ones, then they would be remembered and they would be taken seriously.
