Hi there!

I'm thinking of taking the plunge into the world of HD and the Philips 37 PFL9603H caught my eye but I read on a Portuguese forum that the Philips LCD has HDCP which is not compatible with some set-top boxes, namely with the "Meo TV" box (Portuguese Package) and Sky+. I was wondering if the Freesat+ receiver works perfectly with this LCD. Does anyone have this LCD and box that can give me their opinion. HDMI on this LCD is v1.3, would that make a difference with the Freesat+?

How's the picture with SD material on this LCD?

Thanks in advance!

Your Philips 37in will work fine with the Humax in my opinion. I've got the slightly larger 42PFL5603H (42in LCD) from Philips and have had it hooked to initially the Humax Foxsat HD box, and now the Foxsat+ PVR. I am using an HDMI connection and it works very well. No handshake problems, and I haven't experienced the soft SD picture that has been reported when using the Foxsat with some models of TV.

Agree with Nick. My 37PFL9632 is also fine, although its connected by HDMI via a Sony 820 Amp.

mine works fine although I probably haven't watched anything that used HDCP.

SD from the Humax is not quite as good as my old Sky+ box. Using HDMI and original source, so TV does the upscaling, seems to give the best results. The 9603 probably has the best SD picture of any LCD at the moment
