It's done fine. It's already sold more than Wake Me Up (#4), See The Day (#9), Long Hot Summer (#7) and Whole Lotta History (#6). It will pass I Think We're Alone Now (#5) this week and possibly even Life Got Cold (#3).

I think it did fine.
There was hardly any promo, only one CD available to purchase and it comes from a #1 album. I was expecting worse

I think now they've had 20 top 10 singles the pressure will be taken off a bit.
I really hoped TLK would make top 10, because 20 just sounds sooo much better than 19. And even though 21+ would be amazing, it wouldn't be as bad to not get it. |

seeing as they werent going to give up their 2 month break, they should have released on Dec 22nd seeing as the only promo was done on 13th, 16th & 18th Dec

Pity it didn't get top 5 as this is one of their best tracks in my opinion
Does make me wonder if there'll be a 3rd single from out of control, and will it make the top 10???

it didn't do as well because their album got to number one and so less people will buy the single, if they release another single their record for most consecutive top tens will probably end

I am certainly no fan of Girls Aloud, but I really liked this song. Not enough to buy, but if and when it comes on the tv or radio, I listen to it all.
Nadine looks lovely in the video. As does Nicola. I'm glad to see their stylists and make up people are finally putting a lil' more effort into her. She deserves it. She can sing afterall. |

Their record label have got a new group now to replace Girls Aloud (called the Saturdays. - if anyone didn't now)Girls Aloud are getting on a bit now for the type of audiance they attract. The Saturdays seem to be better singers anyway.

You should see the MTV Making The Video programme. Kimberley's got enough make-up on to keep St Trinian's supplied for a decade. Not a good look, girl!

I hoped it would do better - it's their best song so far, in my opinion. But I'm not really surprised, to be honest. I now just wish it had been released first, instead of 'The Promise' - it looks like the better song won't actually chart as well.

I would have liked it to go top 5 but atleast it still made top 10
I wonder what the next single will be, there's a few I quite like!

This song is my current fixation. Especially the single version. Shame it didn't do better but with little promotion and most people having the album and likely not seeing the point of buying the single, I can understand. They should have included Memory Of You as a B-Side to the CD single.

I agree. But I don't like the weird-coloured lipstick that Sarah is wearing and I loathe the bright-red lipstick that Cheryl and Kimberley are wearing.

I like this song MUCH better than 'The Promise' and I actually think it has surpassed my favourite song of theirs... which before went to 'Biology'.
Also, listening to this guy's cover... certainly made me like the song EVEN MORE. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6g4A06haVw |

Am i the only GA fan not loving 'Memory of You'?

I really like Memory Of You, I even ordered the limited edition vinyl. Lol. It's not as great as some people are saying, but it's certainly better than some of the stuff on their album. Like 'Live In The Country'. Speaking of B-Sides 'She' from The Promise was a great one too. (I do love Out Of Control, don't get me wrong. I brought it the day it came out).
But I think The Loving Kind is a better song than The Promise and deserves to be a number one over it, but whatever. At least it got number ten, that's certainly not doing badly or anything. |
