Personally I like her, and considering how we felt about Billie before she started; I think there's potential for Lily to make a good companion, if she's given a chance to prove herself.
Why does the BBC or the writers feel the need to cast celebrities in Doctor Who? Doctor Who is a massive show and doesn’t need to cast celebrities to survive. It's pointless, it just drags the show down in my honest opinion.

I hold Allen entirely responsible for this wave of female singers basically singing like chavs, ie, dropping their t's and h's to sound more 'real'. It just sounds affected and annoying, and if that madam is going to be in Doctor Who, it's another reason not to watch. I'm already seriously unimpressed with the choice of Doctor
If she does get a part, then no doubt we will know the episode script in its entirety before transmission.
I used to like her until she became a celebrity obsessive in the form of a jade / jordan who release information to the press on a daily basis in the belief it is interesting and people actually want to know.
