Pay

Apols if this has been discussed before, but does anyone know if the performers are paid per show, or for the series?

I can see it from both sides for someone like Kristina. I presume she lives in Canada, so she's had to traipse all the way over here to get knocked out in the first week. You wouldn't do that unless you'd been guaranteed to be paid for quite a few weeks at least.

Yet if she's been advanced for the series, she's now being paid for work she isn't doing - a bit like the Vauxhall workers...

It also doesn't seem fair if Gemma and Graeme are being paid the same as Ray, though Ray will earn from the tour later, I assume.

Just curious, in the current economic climate.

TBH - I think they are paid equally as they have to be available for the duration of the show, regardless of when they leave.

Although I have no idea what they are paid.

Interesting that the pay rates for everyone on Strictly were all over the net way before that series started but I've seen nothing yet re this for DOI. Have I missed it or are ITV better at keeping this info under their hats

In principle I agree it's best to pay everyone the same basic set rate whenever they go out, but maybe there could be bonus' for both pro and celeb for making the later weeks/final? That'd add an extra frission to the effort levels, and gritted teeth "everyone's lovely" interviews as they leave - or am I just being a wicked stirrer here ...??

I'm not interested in what they earn, but I like Welsh ex pat's suggestion that they get a bonus for making the latter rounds (maybe semis and finals).
