Todd was putting most of the crash on
I can't see why everyone is getting so excited about him- he was told what to do on the whole and made the routine over the top becuase his skaing is so poor.

I will be outraged if he were to win it over someone like Ray or whoever scrubs up good just because of the public vote. I feel sorry for those who are trying really hard to push boundaries and succeeding so well they have made it look easy.
![]() BTW the reason we are getting excited is because Todd has given many people a real good laugh, twas very funny. |

well yes outraged might be a bit strong, but I see this as a talent contest which is meant to be entertaining, not the entertaining making a mockery of the skill that many are working hard to put in to the routine. I meant more outraged for the "good" contestant's point of view. It would be quite wrong for him to win just becuase he was so awful he was entertaining.
By the way, I laughed as much as anyone else, but it certainly didn't make me vote for him, and there is no way I would go and see the Tour if he was in it - I was thinking of going this year. But there you go, that's my choice and my opinion |

At this stage of the competition, I don't think there is any harm in skaters with Tod's ability remaining in the competition. I think he will leave in a couple of weeks or so and if not that is down to the public!
Personally in the final stage I would like to see performers with some skill but it is only a show on the T.V. |

tbh, I don't think Todd is a good enough skater to have pulled that stunt off. Pure, hilarious accident imo

Jayne or Chris did say something to the effect that Todd was meant to skate off the ice, but it didn't go as planned...... It went wrong when he had to let go his zimmerframe.... sorry, his partners hand! Nevertheless, it was funny, but it won't work a second time, and if he wants to stay in the show, he needs to learn to skate.

Todd was putting most of the crash on
Lol it took me a while to work out what the title of this thread meant!
![]() Todd didn't deliberately trip. He was meant to wave, skate down the tunnel, turn round, and skate back out. Only it didn't quite go as planned ![]() I still think it was hilarious!

Yeah, it wasn't put on, he's not a good enough skater to fake a stumble like that, it actually takes a bit of skill to trip up on your toe picks deliberately and not fall over at the end of it (which he did).

Do people on here honestly think he has the skill to do a Harold Lloyd style faux pas.the guy is hopeless and he will go far in it for being crap...but not far enough to win.
I wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt injure himself in the end to be honest. I like Todd and i have no problem with him being in it...for now. |

My main worry about Todd is that he is going to get seriousley hurt. He is dangerous on the ice, but its funny

Is OP claiming that Todd is in fact a pretty good skater and wouldn't ever make a wrong move on the ice unless he was directed to?
Well in that case, we must enter him for the next World Championships! |

It was DEFINATELY choreographed that he 'loose control' at that point and go out through the tunnel to return just in time for the ending. Chris and Jayne told us this.
I think he looks out of control most of the time. Thats the fun of it isn't it? Has us all glued in case he comes a cropper. ![]() All that went 'better than planned' as Chris said was that while pretending to be out of control he lost it for real and it became a genuine scramble to stay upright. |

Someone on another thread pointed out that the unpopular contestants tend to go first and then the weakest of those remaining. Of course, there are always exceptions but that seems to be the general pattern. I'm guessing (hoping!) that this will be the case with Todd. For some reason Gemma and Jeremy didn't endear themselves to the public but all the remaining contestants are more or less liked. They all have detractors, of course, but I don't think any of them are strongly disliked. All the other contestants have potential to improve but somehow I don't think Todd has: he's probably gone about as far as he can go. Therefore, I imagine he'll be out in the next couple of weeks - hopefully before he injures himself! Quote:

Well, it's no secret that it was choreographed for him to wave his arms in the air and go down the tunnel, as both the commentator and Christopher Dean more or less said so. Perhaps you missed it OP? That would have been very funny in itself and a particularly inspired idea, but he lost control and it became even funnier. It was comedy gold and very entertaining.

Well I think you may be right that some of the celebs will be outraged, but I dont see it as a talent contest at all,if so what is their prize.
Those who stay longest will have much more to do and loads of difficult steps so I doubt Jeremy Edwards would be too concerned at Todd staying last week as he's got off lightly having only done two weeks of skating! Todd was 10x more entertaining than JE!

The voice over guy said that it was planned!
It wasn't planned that he stumble, exit into the tunnel completely out of control, crash into the back of the set, end up on his backside and then be picked up and pushed back out of the tunnel by the crew, which is what actually happened. He's not skilled enough to be able to fake that epic exit! Look at this ITV Dancing on Ice webvid to hear about it from the people who were backstage at the time. Phillip Schofield also describes it in his blog and has a behind-the-scenes vid about it on his wbsite as well. |
