DHD4000 - Errors during EPG download
JHM
28-01-2009
For the last six nights the EPG download has struggled to get started with following showing in the log:

OAD: failed to tune to data pipe service

Each night shows there were 85 occurrences of failure, although at the usual time of 03.18, it apparently sorts itself out and goes on to successfully download the EPG.

Is there anyone else that has logging turned on seeing this type of behaviour?

Yes, I've seen it and someone else has commented on it somewhere. I guess that the main thing is that we get the 14 day EPG OK.

Ah, it’s good to hear that I’m not the only one, and as you say it is managing nevertheless to successfully download the EPG.

Me too on Winter Hill (aka NorthWest now apparently).

Do you think they have just changed the scheduled time of the download, and those messages is just the box flagging that it hasn't seen the signal yet?

If they have changed the download time then it must be by a very small amount, since each time it still starts downloading the EPG at 03.18am. - which is the precise time that it has always started. Maybe their clock which controls the transmission is 30 seconds slow

Whatever the reason is, this problem commenced on January 23 and has occurred every night since. Does anyone have contact details for 4TV, or whatever they currently call themselves? I assume that they are still the company responsible for the EPG download.
