DIVx DVD player with HD upscaling
Hi everyone.
I've just inherited a nice Samsung LCD TV and wouldn't mind upgrading my DVD player. Money is tight atm so Blu Ray isn't an option for me. Can anyone recommend me a DVD player which has HD upscaling and DIVx playback? Thanks. |

They're all much of a muchness as far as upscaling goes.
I'd concentrate more on getting as wide ranging a DivX player as possible .... one that handles stuff like advanced profile (QPEL, GMC etc etc), subtitle file, AC3 sound ..... etc etc. In the sub £200 range, you're not likely to get much, if any, improvement on the upscaler already in your TV .... |

I saw this for sale on amazon, did a google search and found it much cheaper
what do people think of it? http://www.pvrempire.co.uk/product_i...roducts_id=117Should have mentioned, my current DVD player is an Acoustic Solutions region free model i got from Argos for £30 in 2005, still works great but HDMI would be a nice improvement. |

don't really buy all that upscaling guff myself - leave it to the telly.
pop into tescos and pick up one of these - LINK Will cost you all of £22 quid ( well thats what it was in ours) well you did say money was tight Played all my DivX disks so far, PQ fine on a 42" plasma, with both DVD and DivX disks |

Anyway the pioneer reads subtitle files no problem,it does wmv/divx and xvid playback from usb hard drive or usb memory stick. |

I've just bought this one instead. It's a Toshiba SD-480E HD upscaling DVD player with DivX http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.204-8718.aspx
