Problems with Text on Freesat+

Hi all, 1st time poster. I have joined because I have just got a Humax Foxsat+ box and a dish and joined the sateelite revolution at last.
I thought being a member here would keep me in the know for any new updates etc.

The system was installed on Monday and all seemed fine, but since Monday I have only been able to get any text / teletext on BBC channels. ITV/C4 etc don't seem to be working, yet I am sure I had it working on the 1st day.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

If you mean red button text they are not enabled yet.More than likely itv will get theirs working before c4.

On some channels you can access a reduced old style teletext service by pressing the Subtitle key on the remote and selecting 'Teletext' - eg. BBC2

Generally speaking the red button services are much better however.

Text service is alos poor compared to terrestrial in my opinion.

On analogue tv you get eg a nice list of news pages on the index and full screen text. In Freesat, you get a small text box to one side which has scroll bars for both stories and index. Functionality is cr*p!

I agree, ive never understood why the digital text service (on all platforms) insists on showing a window of the current program, so therfore showing text on only half the screen.

If i am reading text i dont need to see the program at the same time. Whoever came up with that idea got it wrong IMO.

Also there is no digital equivalent of things like aircraft arrival times, which are available on analogue.
Much better than an 0870 telephone call to the airport so that delays to scheduled arrival times can be picked up. Especially with the cost of airport parking!
