Static on the line!
Hello all
I've got a Sky Broadband router and a Motorola D213 Triple DECT home phone I'm getting a hell of a lot of static on the line and the internet generally loses connection when I'm on the phone Not entirely tech savvy with phones so I'm not sure what the problem is. Anyone any ideas? |

I thought it might be connected to the internet as I occasionally get a dial up style sound when I pick the phone up and then the net generally disconnects and the phone goes more static |

There are instructions in your phone book on how to check if your line or own equipment/wiring is faulty
Try dialing 17070 and take the quiet line option,( if BTsupply the line) NB...if you report your line faulty and there isnt a fault ( on what BT/Openreach are responsible for) and they visit your property they will charge you for the unneccesary visit, so make sure its not your own equipment thats causing the noise Line tests dont always pick up noise problems so just because the line tests OK doesnt mean it isnt faulty |

Yeah, it was fine.

We had a similar problem, and it turned out to be the brand-new ADSL filter supplied with our new router. The internet connection was very poor and every time I picked up the 'phone the router would lose lock. Odd noises on the line as well. I put our old filter back in and all was well!
