Bet 'I used to be a man' Lynch to return to Corrie AGAIN: oh no !!! :-(
According to the spoilers, Bet is set to make yet another return to Corrie in a week or so. Didn't the writers & producers learn anything from the fiasco when she came back a year ago?

Bet Lynch has gone down as one of my most hated soap characters !!! I used to love her, but after her last 'come back' all those feelings rapidly changed

Her character is on a completely different planet now. They wouldn't dare let her loose on a serious storyline either. G |

I agree Mark. I can't see her being popular a second time. People move on, there have been lots of strong characters behind the bar since, so she's lost her appeal. Quote:

I haven't heard, but is the Blackpool story line, just a spin-off or are they intending to thrust all these old characters back on us permanently?! I think they're making some miscalculated assumptions that we *want* them back. The great thing about Corrie is that it's comfortable and familiar, this just stirs it all up. Ahhh, silly me that's what they want of course! I'd forgotten it's the new improved, ridiculous story-line, Corrie.

Well I may be in the minority, but I will be glad if Bet does return, I have hardly watched Corrie since she left, she is a brilliant actress, and her humour behind the bar made the programme for me. As for her being a "diva" I thought Julie Goodyear was ill, that's why she pulled out after her last return, maybe I got it wrong.

I think it's more a case of people feeling they've drawn a line under Bet. She's done her time, had her moments of glory and great storylines. But Corrie ARE good writers and they are going to be well aware they've got to come up with a pretty gripping story line this time around. Especially with her leaving so quick the last time. The gbp are an unforgiving bunch and are a bit quick to judge too. Remember the Slaters? Quote:

Contempt for the actress might be more fitting than hate for the character.

How can you feel such hatred for someone you have never met? I feel sorry for people that feel this way. We are talking about an actress who was in Corrie after all!

Contempt is not hatred. With what is going on in the world how can you not feel contempt for prima donnas.
