Recording failures this morning.
Yesterday, I set a reservation for this morning's "Archers" on Radio 4FM at 1000 - 1115. I had previously set a reservation for all episodes of "Wycliffe" on ITV3+1 at 1100 - 1200 on Sunday mornings. Both failed to record.
I switched on at 1130 and found that neither the Archers nor Wycliffe were in the schedule, but Wycliffe is correctly reserved for next Sunday. (At 1130, I wouldn't expect to see the Archers still there, but I would expect to see Wycliffe.) For info, I have the box set to record 2 mins early, and 5 mins late (I don't trust the "auto" setting, cos I've missed a few starts and ends) I did a little exploring, by going into the schedule, and the FIND option. I searched for Wycliffe, and todays 1100 edition was there, with a green blob beside it, presumably to indicate that the programe had already started ??? Any ideas, please ? This is the first unexplained issue that I've had with my hdr since I got it over two months ago, so my confidence in it has taken it's first knock ! |

No answer for you sorry, just more questions. I have found some series linked programs fail, Krypton factor being one example. When I look in schedule I find the listing is still there but the date has passed, there is no indication why the recording failed

Suspect this may be due to ITV not sending out the correct signal at the start of the program.
You may have more luck if you set your box to record (say) 2 mins before the start and 5 mins after. I think this avoids using the start/stop broadcast signals (which can be unreliable), and instead uses the times published in the EPG. Can anyone confirm ? |

So it appears to me that editing the channels in non-freesat mode invokes the box to think freesat mode needs updating and if you turn off the box the next time it is due to boot-up and a recording is scheduled it won't. I may if I find time to try and repeat this and if anyone else with not many schedules would like to test this be my guest |
