A huge great toad. I've no idea what sort of toad it was, but it was an enormous bugger.

We used to have fire bellied toads, which released some sort of poison (think it was salmonella) so we had to wash our hands after holding them.
We also had newts, Geckos and some sort of snake.
My sister also had some Giant land snails.

But we aint allowed pets where we live now so we had to give them up.

Someone I know used to have Iguanas. They had their own bedroom in the house & used a cat litter tray. Interesting creatures!!

as for exotics, college just got a raccoon in from someone who kept her as a pet
my friend has a lovely ball python - (i'll give you 3 chances to guess his name )

myself, i'd love to get a pair of fennec foxes

the most exotic thing i have at the moment is an albino red tailed shark

Probably some of the snake species less commonly kept as pets. (I keep corn snakes myself but as pet snakes go, they're pretty common)

Such as:

African Egg Eating Snake
Burmese Pythons (they get HUGE)
Various Tree Pythons (incredible looking snakes but you have to be careful how you handle them .... they have quite a bite)

I had a pet earwig for a while when I was younger. He lived on fish food flakes.

Some of the stuff people keep in marine fish tanks is pretty nuts as well. Lion Fish anyone?

I keep some unusual animals. Caecilians, Amphisbaena, Lesser Tenrecs, a Mudskipper, a Lungfish, freshwater crabs, and quite a few other exotic species.

I just have a few corn morphs.

Just a normal, amel and snow at the moment. But have had the amel and snow for the thick end of 20 years.

I looked into getting an egg eater myself a while back but we don't really have the space for any more vivs.

One thing I do wonder .... where on earth do you buy a mudskipper?!?!?

Not something I'd expect to find in you average pet shop!

I got it from a local aquatics shop, most should be able to order them in, they arent commonly seen in shops at the moment though I think?

I saw a camen (small crocodile type creature) for sale in a pet shop once. The most exotic pet I've ever had was a corn snake.

I must have only been four, but apparently I and some family saw it near our house.

It's Hercules the bear. A pet, a wrestler and actor.

I have no idea how-much it cost, but I'm willing to bet it was a fortune, or was worth a fortune:

I've kept Iguanas and a Burmese Rock Python, but I'd say the most exoctic I've seen kept is a either a Mangrove snake or Monitor lizard (want one of these myself) and knew of someone who had a Black Mamba although that wasen't in the UK.

Quite a few years ago now I saw a really unusual animal in a pet shop. I can't remember what it was called but I'd never heard of it or seen one before. I suppose it was a reptile of some kind, not from this country. It was in a dry glass box and it was about the size of a tortoise and quite similar I suppose but it had like pointed scales all over it. It was like a miniature dinosaur almost. It was a few hundred pounds and the last one he would have as imports had been banned since he aquired it. ( Thats if they were ever legal in the first place, it's just what the shop owner told me. )

In my time, i've had:

Burmese Albino Python (just like Whitney's though I never wrapped him around my neck)

2 Boa Constrictors

1 American Bull Snake that was so vicious it used to try and attack you so hard through the glass if you passed it. We could actually hear it attacking the glass from the bedroom below

2 stingrays and an Asian Arrowana
