Forgive me if I'm wrong...

I don't really understand how the voting works but if the Judges scores are combined with the public vote then it must mean that Todd is getting alot of votes in order to be safe each week...

So if this is right, I guess Todd could be here for a long time...

You're correct. The order of the 10 skaters, was Ray, Jessica, Zoe, Michael, Roxanne, and Melinda then there was Ellery, Coleen and Donal who all got 16 marks from the judges, Todd was bottom.

So the points from the judges were Ray 10, Jessica 9, Zoe 8, Michael 7, Roxanne 6, Melinda 5, Ellery, Coleen and Donal would all have had 4 points and Todd 1 point.

That means that Todd had to get enough votes to make up 5 more points than Melinda and 7 more points than Michael for those two to be in the skate off.

All I can say is the Great British Public has gone totally mad.

I'm pretty confident that Todd will be here for a pretty long time, I don't believe that with him getting all the support he's getting now that he will leave anytime soon...
It's just a matter who will leave in place of him.

Todd must be getting a lot of votes, but I do wonder if that is partly because many of the couples are just not worth picking up the phone to voting for.

I think part of the problem is that the personalities of many of the celebs just don't shine and it wouldn't surprise me if the number of votes is down overall on previous series.

I'd say reading this board that for some couples the pro is attracting more votes than the celeb.

What are the viewing figures compared to the voting figures?

Where is it actually explained that the scoring system works like this? I mean, I always assumed it worked in the same way as Strictly (as you've pointed out), but I can't actually find written confirmation anywhere. They never explain it on the show, and it's not on the website either...

yeah they need to clarify how the voting system works, even if they only do this on the website.

It's madness that Todd is still in when better skaters have been eliminated, what the heck are the GBP thinking?!

It was funny at first but beyond a joke now.....

I think this is true. With the excpetion of Ray and Jessica (and Todd for a different reason) , most of the rest are on a par with one another and not particularly well known and I can understand why people don't feel the urge to pick up the phone and vote.

I reckon voting figures are down this year after the scandals anyway.

I haven't voted up till now but in the interests of keeping the best skater in the contest I did vote for Ray yesterday and Donal as I think he's worked the hardest.

I agree.

Of course the GBP can all vote for whoever they want, but losing good skaters with potential and keeping in someone that bad is just plain stupid. They must hate talented people!

Daft and pointless.

I would say Coleen and Todd were getting the bulk of the votes to be honest

The whole programme is tacky and pointless in my opinion (ITV are so good at this) and as previous skater (too old now) I find most of the men have poor posture and their style does not seem to be improving at all.
As for the results programme, we just turned over in the last 10 minutes or so to see who was in the dance off and was aghast to see that Carty wasn't in it.

I thought Todd was funny last week, but don't think he should have stayed in last night. Gutted that Michael and Mel went out. Think that it's also about time Coleen was in the bottom two along with Todd.

Call me thick, but I have never understood how they translate the judges' points into votes. Would it be wrong to assume that the top two or three are immune from what the public say then? Are they automatically safe or virtually safe as they have a giant head start? It's all so confusing.

Whilst there are still lots of contestants, the top one or two are probably safe, but as the number of contestants is reduced, so the top ones become less safe. In fact this week, Michael was 4th with the judges but became either 9th or 10 by the time the viewers votes were included.

Eventually, we could end up with a situation where either Ray or Jessica are in the bottom two with Todd. No guesses for who would be eliminated.

Yep he could be he is obviously getting alot of votes from the public to keep him out of the bottom 2 once he gets in the bottom 2 he will be out as the Judges wont save him other somone one else

The joke will wear thin soon if it hasn't already. It's like the fuss with the Sergeant situation - he may as well have stayed in because good sense would have prevailed in the end.

I'd like to think good sense will prevail in the end but we don't know just yet....

I know in American Idol there have been vote-for-the-worst campaigns and eventually good sense does prevail and the worst gets voted out but they are unknowns and Todd Carty is a celebrity and obviously a popular one at that.

tbh when I heard about the John Sergeant fiasco I felt sorry for him and thought he should have been allowed to stay as he was being voted for fairly and squarely. But I don't watch Strictly so it didn't matter to me.

Now it's happening in a show I love I feel differently and really irritated that skaters with potential are lsoing out to a clown

It may do but the thing is when they revealed the votes he was getting two/three times more than the other contestants in the two weeks before he "quit"!
