Coronation St - Recordings Failing
About 1 in every 3 of my series linked recording of Coronation St is failing.
The recording appears under media but when I go to watch I get an error something along the lines of Recording is less than 30secs long - sometimes It lets me play those 30 seconds and sometimes not! Does anybody else have this problem? Is this Freesat specific? Are ITV sending the wrong info which is causing this to fail? Is there something wrong with my HDR? Thanks in anticipation of your help! Louis Best work around is to record each episode as a single event rather than series linking. Unless you want to individually check each episodes CRID that is

Aha, the Humax impresses me even more. An intelligent box that refuses to record soaps.

Thanks for your help guys,
I don't really get that it is a series link issue, surely if it was a series issue I would get no recording at all? The recording shows as scheduled in the guide, when I come to watch later the recording has an error of no more than 30secs of recording! If it had the wrong ID then I think it would be missed completely, ps I dont really know anything about broadcasting but Im from a computer programming background and an incomplete recording just doesnt seem to fit well with getting the wrong ID and it being a series link issue just doesn't make sense! Can anybody shed any further light on this issue? |

As much as I appreciate your reply with the links to all of those threads, not one of those is experiencing the same issue as me. My recording appear to be starting on time but it is recording less than 30secs of the recording! |

There is just too many human fingers in the process as this forum and many others, littered with postings about failed series links will testify. I have 3 pvrs (2 freeview and 1 freesat) and since ignoring series link and setting my own paddings have not failed to make a recording on any of them in over 12 months for the freeview stb's and since delivery of the foxsat-hdr early december last year. For series recording I use the daily/weekday repeat facilities, you do however have to keep an eye on schedules but even so have found from practical experience it's just more reliable. |

Ok Guys
I took your advice and removed the series link after my recording failed on monday evening! I then setup a recording from the guide for coronation street on ITV2 repeated late on monday evening. This is not a series link. The recording failed in the same fashion. Any Ideas? |
