Let's look at the evidence...

Does anyone know what the state of play was between Ray and girlfriend when this "Emma" appeared on the scene?

Does anyone know whether Ray and girlfriend were having any troubles around the time he was appearing in "Grease"?

Does anyone know the exact time scales involved?

Does anyone know anything of the actual "facts" of the situation?

All we know here is what a sensationalist tabloid newspaper and a girl who doesn't seem to be anti "making a fast buck" choose to tell us.

Looking at what we know are facts: Ray and long-term girlfriend are finished.
Ray is with new woman.
The above facts may or may not have coincided.
Long-term girlfriend may be unhappy about split or may be cashing in on situation or both.

None of us have any idea about most of this. Any trainee solicitor would go to town on the amount of contradictions in the story.

And having looked at the evidence, do we really care?
