Hi,
I recently acquired a Toshiba 32AV555DB LCD TV.
The TV seems to work fine while watching SD broadcasts ( I don't have an HD input) on most channels. However, when I watch some programmes on (for instance) BBC channels or ITV channels there can be some "hazing" or "background snow" is this due to the brodacast itself as it seems like it isn't there during CGI sequences (like the BBC news opening or cartoons).

The picture looks ace on the Sky channels with none of the above occuring, is this a side effect of the higher quality TV showing the same picture as my old CRT and therefore showing the more realistic nature of the picture?

You're not really explaining your problem, do you mean BBC1 on analogue or through the freeview tuner???, if analogue then the picture may be pretty poor, freeview reception should be comparable to Sky quality if you get a good signal.I recently setup one of these for one of my sisters and it works excellently.

Whoops, you are entirely correct.
I am viewing all services (SKY and ITV/BBC) through a SKY + box through a scart lead.
